For years, I’d order him pancakes and make him “jelly roll-ups”. Pancakes slathered in strawberry jelly and rolled up.

She’d walk up behind my son, tickle him, kiss him on the head and he’d laugh and laugh.

I’ve been in countless times since. I know the waiters well. We’ve watched each other’s kids grow up.
There isn’t a time I go in when I don’t think of Camille though. There are people who brighten lives just through everyday kindness.

It was an outpouring of love for a coffee shop waitress who an entire community of people had come to know over simple breakfasts in a tiny storefront.

But there are also people who uplift and brighten.
They seldom get the flowers while they can still smell them.
If you know someone like that, you should go ahead and tell them.
No better time than during the holidays.
