Currulao is our traditional Black/Afro music on the Pacific Coast of these three departments in Colombia, from north to south they are: Valle del Cauca, Cauca and Nariño.
Out of the three departments, there are 14 predominantly Black municipalities where Currulao is rooted: Buenaventura, Lopez de Micay, Timbiqui, Guapi, Mosquera, Olaya Herrera, La Tola, Francisco Pizarro, El Charco, Santa Barbara, Magui, Roberto Payan, Tumaco, and Barbacoas
