I guess once the not safe for EU labels start rolling out, Billingsgate Market will need an E-Coli section for UK consumption only.
Just so the @Conservatives can feed the UK more shit, we have the #SewageScandal #CovidEnquiry #Profiteering #NHSCrisis #PartyGate #BrexitDisaster

News reaching us that @michaelgove is taking this weekend to consider his political future. Unsure whether he will stand at the next #GeneralElection Thread 🧵
1. Michael’s @Surreyheath Council controlled by @Conservatives fell to the @LibDems leaving only 6 Tories on the council! @michaelgove didn’t attend the count.
2. Civil war has broken out in Michael Gove’s local @Conservatives association. The already small number of activists they had are livid with his lack of leadership and toxic brand. Membership cards are being cut up in disgust.

Perhaps a #GeneralElection? Sunak is unpopular, Johnson a lawless and lazy disaster, what about democracy?
It would be good to hear Johnson supporter arguments, or than he is a great campaigner, what does he now stand for? He presided over one of the most enthusiastic, but dishonest campaigns on our electoral history

Here from US Embassy here in 2018
More to back up that big assertion.

When power is the point instead of the best prospects for our nation

🧵 1. On Christmas Eve, I experienced first-hand what it feels like to require the urgent help of paramedics and A&E staff when my daughter suddenly collapsed and became unconscious on the kitchen floor! Image
2. I called 999, and despite my sheer panic, the controller talked me through how to check her breathing and roll her over into the recovery position. As she began to come around, she was sick and couldn’t see anything! Her body was burning up; causing her to become unconscious
3…again. The controller asked me to check her breathing. It was very shallow, and I struggled to find a pulse. He then asked me to locate her allergy Jext pen and inject her! In my panicked state, I couldn’t find it! Within 13 minutes, @SECAmbulance paramedics arrived.

We are controlled by a government that morally no longer possesses a mandate from the people. Public opinion is massively in favour of a #GeneralElection Rishi Sunak leads a government that is top heavy with Right Wing Authoritarian Globalists.
#FollowBackFriday
The majority of voters did not vote for this government in 2019! Our antiquated FPTP system delivered the country to a clown!
Who took lying to a whole new level in UK politics.
#FollowBackFriday
Rishi Sunak represents the last gasp of a Tory party without the decency to concede in face of massive public opinion &take their record to the country. They'd rather carry on destroying it while Matt Hancock earns 400k for crawling among insects in the jungle.

I’ve been a registered #nurse for 3 years.

2.5 years of #covid working front line, and left burnt out, seeing such trauma left me #suicidal and needing #PTSD #EMDR therapy. In that time I was diagnosed with Autism and this year I buried my mum.

So actually @RishiSunak
I will be #striking #rcn #costofliving #ToryChaos

Your government were encouraging the public to clap for us during some very dark times.

A 72p pay rise won’t even get me three Cadbury chomps! It’s insulting to all of us #keyworkers @UKLabour @AngelaRayner
You know how you can fix this? Call a #GeneralElection and move aside for a real government, you have no mandate, no integrity, and no hope. #ToryChaos #ToryShambles #GeneralElectionNow

New thread on the #SecondGFC follows.
So Moody’s has downgraded the UK as a “warning sign” re the volatility of £ & UK politics. One of the rating agencies that awarded top grades to junk bonds etc in the #GFC. A 100 yrs ago Moody himself gave the UK our now lost top rating. How times change. C/f £⬇️ since then.
Clearly governments were in charge of the markets then. And now, shockingly, markets seem to be in charge of governments! The “markets” are warning the UK to appoint the right finance minister and maybe PM. [lunch beckons, more to follow]

I'm sorry if I rant at you & preach like I'm standing in a pulpit. I don't mean to truly I don't. It's simply because I feel so strongly about what's been done to the people of our country. My heart aches to see it! knowing that if we don't get a new government in Westminster the
Corruption and nepotism and cynical misgovernment that has brought this about will never be exposed and the guilty will escape any form of justice or genuine public censure by court or parliamentary inquiry. The liars will remain in positions of influence and Lobby groups
So called think tanks like Tufton Street, the Bruges Group and the IEA, and not forgetting their parliamentary shock troops the ERG, will continue to promote deceit and extreme right wing economic theories and agendas without oversite and proper scrutiny.

During the first week or two of the Tory leadership race, I decided to venture over to two VERY dark corners of the internet. The comments sections of the Telegraph and Con Home.

Even by their subterranean standards, I was completely dumbstruck at what I read.
Sunak was being attacked all over the shop: specifically for being a high tax, 'socialist' Chancellor. 🙄

Meanwhile, the choice of the right wing grassroots? The dangerously out of control lunatic Kemi Badenoch - by a very long way.
And why? Because she'd slash taxes! She'd finish off the state altogether! She'd end the 'madness' of net zero!

'Madness' - aimed at ensuring future generations have any kind of habitat at all.

This was 'true conservatism'. Unlike those awful lefties Johnson and Sunak.

Tory Ministers will be alarmed at the extent of potential strike action reflected in the TUC motions:
The country’s biggest unions demand they work closely together to maximise their impact and “win” the fight for inflation-related pay rises. theguardian.com/politics/2022/…
The move, which includes the two biggest unions, Unison and Unite, comes amid growing anger at the government’s failure to agree a detailed package of help for families following Friday’s announcement that average gas and electricity bills are to rise by 80%.
In response to govt plans to cut 91,000 civil service jobs, the First Division Association, representing senior civil servants, is calling on the next prime minister to abandon the “destructive approach of arbitrary job cuts”

The link from @thedailyherald & conversation in @AD5NL’s 🧵 I understand, but I want to know from @MauryGOP followers on this. Does it bother you that the Mayor made a grandstanding gesture for some bogus fundraising quotes delaying @MauryCoSchools budget for the upcoming year
Just to fundraise off of something he knows can be overturned with a simple majority? Are you okay being used as a prop for his campaign as Andy demonstrates that he doesn’t care about the issues, and Andy refused to give an explanation on the actual issues inside the budget?
Has Andy ever shown that he cares for anything besides Andy? Ask yourself those questions as we enter Early voting.

#TheLawOnElectionsInUganda.

The holding of Elections, under the 1995 Constitution stems from the "sovereignty of the people" ,under Article 1(4) that the the will & consent of the people on who to govern them and how shall be expressed through REGULAR, FREE & FAIR Elections.
#TheLawOnElcetionsinUganda.

Of emphasis under the said Article are the "Regular, free and fair elections. Regular elections means that elections shall be held periodically, thus holding of election under the Constitution is certain on as and when they shall be held.
#TheLawOnElectionInUganda.
Should the #period when a #GeneralElection is held be certain?
Yes the period should be certain under the Const... Art. 67 thus the Electoral Commission is supposed to ensure that Elections are held at #fixedtimes & notified to the public in advance

SNP’s success (47 seats) will likely lead to growing calls for a Scottish referendum. Scotland voted 62% to remain in 2016. #GeneralElection result is clear - the U.K has voted to leave the EU in 2019. But the next drama could be just around the corner.

2. From a defence perspective alone, a successful Scottish referendum would have catastrophic & fracturus consequences. At Faslane on the Clyde river you have the U.K’s nuclear submarine deterrent (Trident) + new generation of hunter-killer submarines. 8 miles away is storage...
3. processing, maintenance and issue of key elements of the UK's Trident Deterrent Missile System and the ammunitioning of all submarine embarked weapons.

We’re deeply disappointed with the results from last night. Congratulations to all those #LibDems who won or kept those seats and commiserations to those who didn’t especially @joswinson 1/4 #GeneralElection
We should now prepare ourselves for 5 more years of Tory government. The NHS is under threat, education is on its knees and Johnson’s Brexit deal threatens to break apart our union. But there is hope... 2/4
Like we’ve said since the referendum, democracy didn’t die on 23rd June 2016. Likewise it hasn’t died on 12th December 2019. We will continue to fight for Britain’s place and relationship with the EU and our vision of an inclusive, liberal society that we’ll get to someday.

My voting history. First #GeneralElection I was eligible for was 1992. That was just after the poll tax & I think I wasn't on the register. In 1997 I voted for @Lisa_Lovebucket of the Rainbow Referendum Dream Ticket Connection Party (I had to Google that to get it right)...
... & put a Reclaim The Streets "Never mind the ballots" sticker up in the polling booth. Thru the rest of the New Labour years I spoiled my vote as referenced in the @cartoonkate 'Blame me, I voted Lib Dem" cartoon cartoonkate.co.uk/this-is-actual… In 2015 I looked at how UKIP had...
... shifted the Overton window rightwards, even without winning a seat, so I decided I would vote for a party rather than writing what I thought & felt on the ballot. I voted Green. Neither them nor Labour had a chance in our constituency at that point

After that election...
