does everyone know that cats, unless theyre babies, only meow at humans and not to each other. this isnt “the sound a cat makes”. this creature is making that noise because it knows it has a certain effect on you. this is literally inter-species psychological manipulation

i actually dont not like cats. i was pretty neutral about the whole brain worms toxoplasmosis gandi thing UNTIL i started dating a girl that is very allergic to cats. this did not happen for the reason you think.
invariably, every person with a cat is like “oh dont worry ill just keep him in the bedroom”. and then we get there, and these people are completely incapable of keeping their pet in a room. they trot it out and are like “aww lookada schnookuns woo woo”. the cat controls them.
that is what happens every time, even with people ive known for my whole life, even if i lay it out and im like yo my gf will be sick for days if you bring your cat out. the cat controls them and they do it every time.
i unironically attribute this to toxoplasmosis gandi and psychological manipulation on the part of the cat. i dont even really blame the cat. but i think my observation of the effect is undeniable and its unique. people can easily control or put authority over their dogs.
i could go harder on this theory and point out that the parasites cats carry can literally cause a womans body to reject a fetus growing inside of it and that obviously this is an evolutionary advantage for a domestic cat but ill let people look into it for themselves.
