One very cool thing about the NYPD and its unions is they have tight secrecy laws protecting their misconduct records, but they leak info on defendants, and in this case a crime victim, whenever it suits their agenda nypost.com/2019/12/15/tes…

Here's one for you: A DEA agent got a drug trafficker to buy a $43,000 truck so the agent could seize it through asset forfeiture and use it as his work vehicle
Oh, some charges are for convincing the drug dealer to identify the wrong person as a major trafficker at a trial, and also for lying on the stand himself.

And 2 Louisiana cops are apparently wrapped up in all this for armed robbery under the color of law
Very cool, very normal drug war.

The will be ~today's thread~ on the FIRST STEP Act. Amendments will be debated and voted on today, possibly final vote on the bill a well.

Dick Durbin currently on the floor urging members to vote no on Tom Cotton's amendments, citing letters from crime victim groups.
Here we go. We're on to amendments now. Sen. Gardner now proposing amendment that would essentially legalize marijuana at the federal level in states that have done so
Sen. Kennedy, an opponent of the bill, now offering amendments. "Rather than try and fix [unjust laws] we’re going to give almost unfettered discretion to the bureaucrats and the Bureau of Prisons to fix our mistakes. It’s like putting paint on rotten wood."

Not police work, necessarily. If he had his choice, he doesn't know if he would have kept on with that work or not.
He would have liked the opportunity to find something he liked doing, though, to explore himself a little. Vocation is a fundamental part of identity for so many humans, and Markus always says their lives don't have to take the same shape humans' do...but still.

Here's how journalists can reach the undecided. They're not supposed to make people decide if they want impeachment or not. They're supposed to report the facts with evidence but of course we know they're pushing propaganda.
Jim Jordan replied to this "If you still need proof that the mainstream press is biased against the president. Look no further. It's not journalists job to change minds. It's their job to report the facts and the facts are on the president's side." And he's absolutely right.

I’m going in alphabetical order. First up is “A Prestigious Affair.” This one is about an exclusive party set in the modern day. Characters are party goers trying to meet the enigmatic Host. Theme: Fame.
The incursion starts by quoting the Irene Cara song, “Fame,” so that’s a good start, haha. My initial impressions of this one are that, while the per se horror elements are minimal, it is still scary as fuck.

One very bad thing is the growing conservative fetishization of elite university issues when the actual conservative position is that in self-perceiving as elite these institutions have already crossed the Rubicon of public morality and do not deserve our respect on any level.
Don’t let your kid go to a school or be part of a club that is proud of how few people they let in!

That is a perverse, wicked, and frankly un-American perspective!
Besides the research suggests that elite universities do not boost lifetime incomes by any appreciable amount compared to moderately less elite universities.
