Hang on. I thought 50k more nurses were @BorisJohnson’s top priority?

Well, his pledge to reinstate the nursing bursary just unravelled.

A token bursary, sure. But student nurses will still have to pay uni tuition fees.

This is stunningly deceitful.

This matters because patients matter. Applicants to nursing degrees fell by 20% when the Tories axed the bursary. And we’re short of 43k nurses.

But the bursary *included* paid tuition fees.

Now it doesn’t.

Why isn’t Johnson being held to account for this electoral dishonesty?
