2. The #BSR couldn’t be what it is without its readers. Our readers span the globe. Stats show that the majority of our readers are in Zimbabwe, which pleases me because that’s the primary audience. It’s followed by SA, U.K., US & Australia locations of the bulk of our Diaspora
3. It was a pleasant surprise to see that while the social network that brings the most traffic is Twitter (85%), the social network on which the #BSR is shared the most is WhatsApp at 52%. We will enhance our presence on WhatsApp as it’s easier & cheaper for the primary audience
4. When I started writing, long before the #BSR was born, my dream was to enhance legal & political literacy. I also wanted to demystify legal & political speak & to counter & expose regime propaganda. A third aim was to hold government, & politicians generally, to account.
5. There is another purpose that the #BSR serves but that is best left to critics, present and future. Suffice to say, it is as much a critique of events & processes in our body politic as it is a part of them. I know from conversations that its audience is wide and diverse.
6. Stats show the majority of visitors are on mobile devices (80%) which is quite pleasing because the #BSR is usually a long read. You would think that would put off most readers on mobile devices but alas it doesn’t! Average time spent is 7 minutes, which I hear isn’t too bad.
