Good afternoon from Manchester, Iowa. The Warren volunteer introducing the senator here is discussing how she used to be a Republican -- and then saw her party trying to take away health insurance from Americans, help that directly impacts her family.
30 days away from the Iowa Caucus and Elizabeth Warren is challenging the crowd in Manchester to look at who government works for.

She’s holding two events today. We’ll be in Dubuque, IA later this evening.
This is interesting. Warren gets her first q on how she will heal divisiveness in the country. She usually starts her answer to this q by talking about how two of her brothers are Republicans but they agree on Amazon/corruption.

Today, she starts her answer talking about Trump.
Warren said: “Divisions in our country didn't just happen on their own. They aren't the result of gravity, or that we all got up one morning and decided we didn't like each other. Understand this: Donald Trump has a strategy. And the strategy is to turn people against people.”
She’s now on the Amazon riff, talking about her brothers, starting by talking on things we agree on.

But this interesting bc Warren has largely avoided rhetoric on Trump on the campaign trail. Her message is about anti corruption, and what comes after Trump.
Warren answering a q on health insurance — several times she describes Medicare for All as “full health care coverage”

“It is possible to offer full health care coverage, Medicare for All, for everyone, w/o costing middle class families one single dime,” she said.
“Yes, big ag, I am coming for you,” Warren answering a q on access to fresh fruits/veggies for Americans. Warren turned it into an answer on anti-trust laws.
Voter asks why we wouldn't go all in right from the get go on M4A.

“We need to get the votes. And we need to give people some experience with it. Healthcare is deeply personal & people are very uneasy. I think about big changes in healthcare and I understand that,” Warren says.
“The way I see it is what I observed through the Affordable Care Act... When we passed the ACA, that it was a long time before it went into effect,” Warren says, “ppl got used to the notion that insurance companies couldn't discriminate against you bc of pre existing conditions.
More from Warren on M4A: “I've got a way to pay for it so we can be very generous in this. Let's open up the possibility...let's let 10s of millions of Americans try it. Bc we can afford to pay for. It's not going to come out of middle class families’ pockets. Let's let them try”
WARREN: “Then let's do the vote on whether or not we lock everybody in. I'm going to be out there fighting, bc I think the system that works best is to get us to single payer, I believe in it. But what I want in a democracy is I want a whole bunch of allies to make this happen.”
