Am hearing NEC has decided registered supporters will have to pay £25 each to vote in Labour leader election and can only sign up in 48 hour window next week..
In other words, same as 2016 leadership elxn.
This confirmed too, source tells me: Leadership ballot will close April 2. Results on April 4th.
Election starts tomorrow (Jan 7th)

New: 'whipless' Tory pro-EU politicians inc Grieve and Guto Bebb have written to EU to ask for extension of up to 8 months to allow confirmatory 2nd referendum on Brexit.
"We are determined to work across the political spectrum, with all willing political parties and individuals, to secure such a confirmatory vote. However, an extension to January 31st does not allow sufficient time for this to be organised under the UK rules...
"We, therefore, urgently request the EU + Govts throughout Europe to allow UK citizens, who still remain EU citizens, the right to confirm their views on our future relationship with the EU. In order to do this, we wd need six to eight months to secure + hold a confirmatory vote"

1) When published, enact all the recommendations of the EHRC. Act decisively, without dither, delay or disputation.
2) Remove the momentum faction from all positions of power within the party. They are responsible for the antisemitism problem, it happened on their watch.

Expel anyone who made antisemitic comments, although I dare say that falls under (1). That includes Mr Corbyn himself.
3) Brexit - acknowledge that Brexit will be a fait accompli. Brexit policy must of course respond to developments over the next 5 years - that's hard to predict.

However, in general, respect the referendum. Pursue a close relationship with Europe, but be meaningfully distinct.

First off, we must thank-you all. We launched a poll on Monday expecting maybe 500 responses maximum. Instead we had a whopping three-thousand-two-hundred-and-thirty votes on our Twitter poll.

That’s ridiculous.
We asked you which party you thought had the oldest average age of MPs.

Most of you, 66%, thought it was the @Conservatives, then the @LibDems (15%), then @UKLabour (14%), with the @theSNP coming in last with (5%).

I bet the SNP are feeling fairly youthful right about now.

1) My small coastal town has 3 seats up for city council next month. #vote
2) Of those running for city council, 5 believe in climate change, 4 don't. All but 2 candidates GOP. 3/5 climate believers here GOP. #vote
3) Last city council election, only 20% registered Dems voted, because they saw majority of candidates were GOP and they dismissed them.
