Puerto Rico's former housing secretary claims Governor @wandavazquezg knew about warehouses, stocked with aid, on the island, before it was exposed publicly. The Governor fired 3 govt officials, including the house secretary, who's now blowing the whistle.

Respectfully, listening to them sound the alarm is getting old. What will/can they do to force the administration to follow the law?
I asked: can they take the case to court? I was told this is more likely: withholding money from other projects, that the administration wants funded, in order to force the Trump administrations hand to deliver, already appropriated money, to Puerto Rico and the U.S.V.I.

Great News out of Puerto Rico: 55% increase in tourism demand on the island. Also, small businesses and individual property owners are fueling the recovery of Puerto Rico’s tourism industry, post Hurricane Maria.
There’s a notable increase in tourists traveling outside the San Juan metro area. How do they know they? They’re tracking tourists cell phones (more info on this below). Percentages show most people visits the east coast of the island more than anywhere else.
I asked the folks at Discover Puerto Rico, the islands tourism promoter, to give me some specifics and context on how & and where things are improving.

There's been a lot of confusing talk about Puerto Rico Governor Rosselló being a Democrat. But this betrays a lack of knowledge about PR politics.

PR politics turns on the "status question"—the relationship between the Island and the United States.

1/
No one runs for office in Puerto Rico on the Democratic or Republican ticket. No one. Period.

There are several local parties. The two principal ones are the New Progressive Party (PNP in Spanish) and the Popular Democratic Party (PPD).

2/
The PNP is generally a right to center-right party, socially conservative and pro-business.

But the raison d'être of the PNP is promoting the admission of PR as a US state ("statehood").

This is Governor Rosselló's party.

Recently, a chat conversation in which our governor and some government officials participated in was The leaks came in two waves, at first only a couple of screenshots were shared, and a few days later the entire 889 pages of pure undistilled debauchery reached the public.
Our Governor:

- Made sexist and homophobic comments and used slurs, against members of his own party and those who disagreed with him in any way
- Mocked the dead in the aftermath of the hurricane
