1/n Panel data shows that democrats' (dis)trust in the mainstream media significantly increased (decreased) between 2016-2019, particularly among whites (for whom agreement with the statement fell from 48%->26%). Rep distrust saw a modest boost over the same period (89%->93%)
2/n Much of the movement among Dems occurred between the 'somewhat agree' and 'strongly disagree' categories. Republicans, meanwhile, were more likely to move from both 'somewhat' categories to 'strongly agree'.
