2/n Although holding constant potential confounds (such as political news engagement) does moderate the different, the pattern remains more or less the same: those who did not report regularly getting news from NYT/Huff showed little to no 2016-2017 change (though they close..
3/3/ (...the gap by 2018). Unfortunately, the media variables were not asked again in subsequent years so I can't estimate a cross-lagged model to get at causality. The data is suggestive, however.
