The Chief Justice of the United States just admonished the lawyers for both sides for not acting as though they were speaking to the "greatest deliberative body in the world"

If you need a bib to be a juror at the third impeachment trial in our history maybe it's time to retire and take up checkers or simple fractions

BREAKING at CNN: Trump is saying he'll block new evidence via executive privilege; McConnell—who promised to abide by Trump's wishes—is now telling GOP senators to vote down witnesses or documents because it'd take too long to fight Trump: the same position the GOP hit Dems for.
PS/ It's not enough to call this a "sham trial" or a "hoax" or a "scam" or to say "the fix is in." Jurors secretly coordinating with a defendant to have him issue a threat that jurors then happily allow themselves to be "intimidated" into a dismissal by is a conspiracy. A *plot*.
PS2/ Evidence of "corrupt intent" is everywhere. Trump's lawyers are in court arguing the opposite of what they're saying in the Senate. The GOP is making one argument against the House, and then acting in exactly the way they've attacked the House for. It's absolutely sickening.

(ANNOUNCEMENT) An earlier tweet of mine about Sanders and the DNC is being deliberately misread—and I'd like it to stop. I wrote a tweet noting the DNC wants to stop Sanders but is going about it in a silly way. I *don't endorse* the DNC interfering in the primaries *whatsoever*.
PS/ I've got a long history of being *very* unhappy with how the DNC runs primaries—includes 2016 *and* 2020. Anyone claiming I'm a DNC shill looking to screw with Sanders is trying to get themselves spun up over nothing just to feel something. Find someone else to pirouette off.
PS2/ Like many of you, I'm tired of DNC stupidity—even as I'm a proud Dem. I observed the DNC wants to stop Sanders; it does. I observed it's doing that by going all-in on a fading Biden; it is. I noted that were one a DNC flack, there'd be better strategies to get what it wants.

RETWEET if you think Democrats should immediately move to DISMISS from the jury any Senator who has been recorded as being ABSENT from the impeachment trial for more than one emergency of no more than 15 minutes. This is the first day of the trial, and 21 GOP Senators are absent.
PS/ Per LAW & CRIME, a legal news website, attendance at the impeachment trial was outlined by *both* the majority and minority leaders as *mandatory* for all Senators. So it's not clear how any of these folks are safe from disqualification under the rules to which *they* agreed.
PS2/ GOP senators who've run from the truth of who this president is—now faced with being *forced* to listen to reality—have literally *fled* to their offices. Apparently FNC is cutting away from the trial to allow Trump's legal team to rebut Schiff *over Schiff's presentation*.

1. John Roberts made headlines this morning. The reaction among Democratic partisans was understandable but I think missing a more important point.
2. Manners of speaking and choice of language aren’t the problems. The problems are the Republican Party’s corruption, the president’s criminality, and the impotency of the United States Senate.

1) Hate to say this, but I think my co-author @joelpollak is wrong on this. If you look at Section I of the US Senate rules, it clearly states that:

Whensoever the Senate shall receive notice from the House of Representatives that managers are appointed on their part . . .
