There's something weird about this tape. Why is Trump discussing getting rid of the ambassador in 2018? They were, for example, talking about natural gas beforehand. Was there a percolating deal for someone close to Trump? Was there a Russian agenda fed through someone?
Also: If Trump wanted her gone in May 2018, why wasn't she gone in May 2018? The president could get rid of her in the blinking of an eye. Something does not add up here, there is some backstory we're missing.
What's the lingering Manafort connection? The Rudy connection? And of course, the Putin/Russian intelligence connection? In a normal world, we would be investigating these things as they seem material and part of bigger stories.
