I've got a GREAT survey on the VA prez primary (plus some full electorate sample stuff) going into the field tomorrow. It'll be my "going away" survey from Wason. Of the very few things I'm good at, innovative survey design is 1 of them & I'm gonna miss doing it. Hoping to rustle
up some $ to run some national polls (via Niskanen) going forward, but that will require funding and right now I have 0 funding so its not something imminent. SO, if you happen to do national election polling & want to bring some innovation into your survey instruments &
likely-voter modeling- give me a ring. Not something I have time for until summer, but I am down w s doing some consulting on election surveys. other than interesting instruments, my likely voter modeling stuff is pretty damn cool.

I posted about a potential lack of critical pieces on Sanders and a lack of specificity of funding for his plans, as well as his electability, compared to these type of pieces on Warren, as a function of potential sexism.

But reflecting on this more I think the main driver of
this is that analysts and journalists have been afraid of being accused of being "unfair" or "establishment" by the Sanders crowd. I think the Sanders' crowd had legitimate anti-establishment complaints from '16 but those complaints have caused a lot of people to "soft glove" his
2020 candidacy. Does that mean there haven't been ANY pieces critical of Sanders, yes, there absolutely have been. The past week have seen a few of this "Sanders as the nominee will be the Apocalypse" type pieces. But in terms of the normal vetting and relentless scrutiny

Fun fact: Like our POTUS, Our members of our VA General Assembly have legal immunity during a session & may not be arrested for anything short of “treason, felony, or breach of peace.” Want to clear this was NOT a factor in this case. And the delegate in this story did not even
mention he WAS a delegate, which reflects well on him and may have helped him not get arrested (for not being a pompous ass). So that part isn't really news ASIDE from the fact that apparently, all over our supposed nation of laws are STUPID little immunities against prosecution
which in my opinion, strike at the HEART of any nation's efforts to curtail corruption. These "immunities" protections, ESP the one that is currently protecting the president, are such horrible ideas. This one, at least, isn't made up- somehow legislators enshrined it in the VA

Here's my 2 cents on this analysis/argument. And this will be more clear when the voter file analysis drops. There's a big space between what Ds do now (current "Blue Dog"-type platform) & Sanderism. My research argues Ds should be LEANING IN, Sanderism is LEAPING IN-naked too.
So it is absolutey the most electorally risky thing Ds can do this cycle. As @jonathanchait points out, Sanders would be the most ideologically extreme nominee since Goldwater in '64. While polarization has dramatically decreased the power of "medium voter" theory, we don't know
for sure if it is gone. We know that as of right now, the general electorate makes no real distinction between Sanders & other Ds on the generic ballot test, but we do know that as described in this article, the communism vulnerabilities ARE major vulnerabilities in terms of mod

I want to start a thread to list some of the things I experience as someone with ADHD. Remember that every person perceives things differently and that I can't and won't speak for everyone with ADHD. I just want to share my experiences to spread awareness
1. I don't see my ADHD as a mental illness. I may not be neurotypical and I get mental health struggles resulting from ADHD related things, but it's who I am and it adds to my personality. It's not something you can just "talk or medicate away".
2. For me ADHD means constantly searching for things that interest me. New hobbies, new projects, new skills to learn etc.
I get easily bored and after a while I move on to new things. Again and again and again.
It's a circle that never seems to end.
