The TOP news item on Politico (and many websites) this eve was the pending DMR/CNN poll. This gave DMR (and CNN) free PR, clicks and views on a thing that they all knew the past how long (hour? Two hours? Half day?) will not be released.

defense of Trump. POTUS can do more damage (politically) to any sitting lawmaker than CNN can do to you for reporting this before it is official.
Statistically speaking, even if the claim is true, then you lower the confidence level/increase the Margin of Error. You don't dismiss all the work outright even if 20 people reported the same issue.
