Seriously, Bannon’s got his own right wing mediasphere to inhabit. He does not need amplification or normalization amongst reality-based people. He’s a cynical, lying bullsh*t artist. We don’t need to understand him, we need to make him irrelevant.
Bannon is the Martin Shkreli or Elizabeth Holmes of politics. He’s a con artist, full stop. Whatever “success” he had is easily understood. Having him on your show just feeds his con.
This is how Bannon should be remembered. But if Maher keeps helping his pal Steve build his brand, then maybe he can attract more followers. Nicely done Bill!
