This is a high school student in Camden, AR, who was held in a chokehold by a uniformed police officer to the point where his feet left the ground. His offense? He was arguing with another student. This is unacceptable. Spread the word.
Apparently this police officer has been “relieved of duty” pending an investigation. Just so everyone understands what that means, it means he’s on a paid leave right now. Not working. But not fired. Not arrested.

Absolutely. Just not optimistic about that actually happening. AR is the same state that reinstated a PO who violated the use of force policy and shot a black man. katv.com/news/local/pul…

Not only is there a lifetime voting ban for anyone convicted of a felony in Iowa, (as of January 2020, Iowa is the *only* state that imposes a lifetime voting bans), but if you try to vote, they go after you and prosecute you for voting.

In Iowa, a Clinton man who is disabled from a brain injury was prosecuted after he mistakenly believed poll workers would alert him if there was a problem with his voting eligibility.
Eight states (Alabama, Arizona, Delaware, Florida, Kentucky, Mississippi, Tennessee, and Wyoming) allow some, but not all, persons with felony convictions to vote after having completed their sentences. Iowa is the ONLY STATE THAT HAS A LIFETIME BAN. ACLU: aclu.org/issues/voting-…

This morning while walking my dog, I found an unattended pair of Ray Ban sunglasses in a case. I picked them up and looked around to see if their owner had dropped them. Then I looked for NYPD officers waiting to arrest whoever picked them up. (THREAD 1/x)
You may be wondering why I thought by picking these sunglasses up, I might be a target for arrest. We see an uptick in “Lucky Bag” cases around the holidays. The NYPD calls it “Operation Lucky Bag,” where they plant unattended valuables & arrest the person who picks them up. 2/x
Often the valuables are sticking out of a bag or purse (hence “lucky bag”), which is left out in public and watched by the NYPD. This practice targets poor people in low income communities, not career criminals. It is patently disgusting. 3/x

Another disturbing video has surfaced showing a 14-year-old Baltimore high school student being viciously beaten in the boys' bathroom by a gang of thugs. 

It was confirmed that the attack took place at Bluford Drew Jemison STEM Academy. 443-642-2110

It breaks my heart seeing our youth participating in such behavior, and everyone involved should be permanently removed from this school -- and arrested. I've seen too many situations where kids commit suicide after acts of bullying like this. #BullyingPreventionMonth

The principal is @principal_durr and he needs to raise more awareness of bullying prevention at Bluford. Call the school, demand action & ask them to put more focus on programs to help prevent this. #BullyingPreventionMonth

High school student keeps detailed calendar retained for 30+ years which contain descriptions of parties including names of attendees. Sounds legit.
2/ I guess we’ll see what he comes up with. But this sounds almost laughably stupid.
3/ Honestly, if he’s such a tool that he kept detailed calendars of parties, movie outings, time with the rents when he was a junior in high school, that’s maybe the best reason to vote no yet.

Brethren, MI: 17-year-old arrested after sheriff received tip that the student threatened to attack his high school. A semiautomatic rifle was found in his home.
Shorewood Hills, WI: A father entered child’s school and gave a teacher a note with the word “gun” written on it to raise concerns about school security
