Bloomberg appealed the decision banning stop and frisk! I attended the hearing! This is just a flat out lie.
Crime dropped after stop and frisk was banned. The city argued crime would have dropped further had it still been enforced. This is maddening.
The only reason stop and frisk... uh... stopped was that Deblasio withdrew the city’s appeal when he was elected!

It’d be one thing for Bloomy to say hey I was wrong and I’ve changed, but just lying about easily googlable matters of fact is very disturbing.
When the initial ruling went against the City Bloomberg not only promised to appeal he said, “You’re not going to see any change in tactics overnight”…
Bloomberg did inherit stop and frisk, but the program reached its peak number of stops in 2011, *nine years* after his election.
