@WhoWouldWin13 Hmmm good one.

If this had been Peter Jackson's Kong, I'd have given it to the Mumakil, which would in that case be FAR larger. Just as Gorillas will back away from elephants (and look as scared as a soldier in a foxhole while doing so), Kong would no doubt back away from a
@WhoWouldWin13 Mumakil.

However, this is the "Kong: Skull Island" version, which is WAY bigger than Peter Jackson's Kong. While Peter Jackson's Kong is about 25 feet high, Kong: Skull Island's Kong is 104 feet high. That's as tall as some Mumakils.

Thus, he's far less likely to back down.
@WhoWouldWin13 If these two clash face to face, then Kong may try to grab the Mumakil's tusks, tighten his grip, and then jerk his arms in a turning motion, breaking the Mumakil's neck. Brown Bears have been known to do this to Moose and Bulls (though they of course grab antlers and horns
@WhoWouldWin13 in those cases). He might also try to land a few punches, maybe an uppercut, and with his bipedal stance, he could land some good ones.
You see, bipedal stances make for superb wallops. Ever wonder why Bears rise before they swat each other, or why Gorillas will stand before
@WhoWouldWin13 slugging each other? Its because you can generate more power that way. A chimpanzee was seen using this tactic against a baboon, landing a punch that made the Baboon wished it had never been born. Indeed, this was undoubtedly the self defense technique that Australopithecus,
@WhoWouldWin13 Paranthropus Boisei, Homo Habilis, and other supposed human ancestors would have used to defend themselves. Its estimated by some that some of these creatures had a punching power of 4000 pounds of force (around 4 times that of Rocky Marciano, the late heavy hitting boxer)
@WhoWouldWin13 Thus, Kong could potentially deliver a devastating uppercut or jab. I don't think he'd try for a haymaker, the Mumakil's tusks no doubt getting in the way, but a jab or uppercut would be devastating.

Both animals are highly intelligent, which makes deciding this battle hard.
@WhoWouldWin13 Elephants are unbelievably intelligent, with some even getting together to raid fruit trucks in Asia (one blocks the road. When a fruit truck stops in front of it, the other elephants converge and raid its fruit supply, all making off like bandits).
Gorillas are likewise very
@WhoWouldWin13 intelligent, capable of learning hundreds of words in sign language. I do not know for sure which animal is more intelligent, kinda leaning towards gorilla but its very difficult to know.
Thus, is almost, if not impossible, to know which is more intelligent, the Mumakil or Kong.
@WhoWouldWin13 Both animals have combat experience, including experience involving human warriors. Kong has battled many giant monsters, while Mumakils would no doubt have battled each other as well as much smaller game, so combat experience wise they are about the same.
@WhoWouldWin13 I think if these two animals met in the wild, they may be tempted to back away from each other, both having never seen each other before. If an animal encounters another who species it doesn't recognize, it could be tempted to back off and evaluate the situation.

Indeed, while
@WhoWouldWin13 war elephants were not as prone to panicking in battle as most assume (though they did panic at times, it wasn't as much as popular opinion believes. indeed, many historians make this error), they would potentially do so if they encountered an elephant-sized animal...that
@WhoWouldWin13 wasn't an elephant. A Mumakil may very well do the same. Indeed, I think its more likely for it to back off that Kong, considering that, being a male (Giant ape equivalent of a silverback), it might try to beat his chest and do several bluff charges, to see if the Mumakil will
@WhoWouldWin13 flee (Silverbacks do this to intruders into their territories. if you run, they'll think you're a threat and chase you down. If you stand your ground, they'll eventually stop and wont bother you). However, with a Mumakil's formidable size and tusks, combined with Kong having no
@WhoWouldWin13 family to protect (Not even a Anne Darrow in the film), he might very well back off as well.

But if they did decide to clash...that's tough. The Mumakil's tusks could potentially cause life threatening injuries.

However, King Kong's enormous, unearthly punching power,
@WhoWouldWin13 along with his ungodly upper body strength, could enable him to kill or THO the Mumakil. It would probably only take a punch or two, or a grab of those tusks and a sudden jerk of movement, and goodbye Mr. Oliphaunt.

Given this, I must conclude...
@WhoWouldWin13 KING KONG MANHANDLES MUMAKIL!!!!!!
@WhoWouldWin13 Meant to write *TKO*
