I’m not sure Sanders was any different on immigration at this time (he voted with the Minutemen in 2006) and was praised by anti-immigrant group NumbersUSA in 2016 for his views on immigration in the past.
Sanders, in the House, voted for a Jack Kingston amendment supporting the Minutemen based on some bizarre conspiracy theory. buzzfeednews.com/article/evanmc…
(SPLC designated the Minutemen a hate group the year before.)
This is what Sanders voted for.
NumbersUSA, another SPLC designated hate group, praising earlier statements by Sanders on immigration as hurting American workers.
Sanders was a regular guest on anti-immigrant (and current informal Trump adviser) Lou Dobbs’ show working to sink one of the few serious attempts to pass immigration reform. vox.com/2016/2/12/1098…

When Berners mention @BernieSanders many years of being "on the right side of the issues", I wonder what they are smoking. First, many years with few accomplishments is a disqualifier in my book. There is no one less effective running.
@BernieSanders I don't care if you are right on every issue, if you are such a disagreeable, self-righteous ass no one trusts you to work with you, then get out of the way so someone who is also good on the issue and can play well with others can take your place.
@BernieSanders All Bernie's many years of yelling about the issues represent to me is the opportunity cost of having a gadfly rather than a lawmaker. What could have been done with effective representation? We will never know, but a wombat could have done as well

Border Wall (no surprise there); Gutting the bipartisan laws w/protect unaccompanied kids so they can be deported back to horrific violence;
