The White House #immigration principles released last night r a White Supremacist wish list of anti-immigrant hate law. Low lights include:
Border Wall (no surprise there); Gutting the bipartisan laws w/protect unaccompanied kids so they can be deported back to horrific violence;
gutting the asylum law so that refugees can be sent back to persecution and torture; gutting due process to speed up deportation
Expanding the grounds of inadmissiblity--the rules which keep people out of the US-so that virtually anyone can be excluded from the US
Targeting & penalizing state & local govs that have the audacity to respect the constitution by not locking immigrants up w/o probable cause
Putting federal immigration enforcement in the hands of local authorities-which will destroy community trust and effective local law enf;
Criminalizing visa overstays-e.g. "you can visit us but if U do U may return home as a criminal" (will make tourism grate again);
Incarcerate immigrants--possibly for life--if their countries refuse to accept them after they're ordered deported (forget the constitution)
Requiring electronic employment verification (in the absence of comprehensive immigration reform); Make it even easier to deport ppl
Deporting ppl w/tatoos (by calling them gang members); Expland US govt ability to delay & deny visa issuance (Int'l commerce be damned);
And, last but not least, the old nativist favorite, gutting what exists of the inadequate & outdated legal #immigration system by..
imposing a so-called "merit-based" immig syst & gutting family unification; a system that will help make America White Again.
