The teenagers (home from college for the weekend) lost my dog last night by leaving the garage door open, which was something they'd done before but this time, our sewer line out there clogged unexpectedly ($450, yeah Friday!) so the outside door was open to deal w the water.
Woke up at 1am (having to get up at 4:30am for a flight, btw) & noticed he was not in his usual spot. Can't even describe the feeling of dread & fear. Got my bike to go find him and just down the street, saw him hauling butt back up our street from our whistles. Cried w relief
He's my bestest friend. I have to throw him frisbees and balls rain, snow, heat, and cold, and I will never, ever complain about it again.
