OK, #HistoryTwitter, in honor of CNN's "Race for the White House" what are the greatest presidential elections of all time? I thought about this and realized there's a difference between "importance" and "closeness/excitement"...so here come two lists:
Importance

1. 1860 (Civil War)
2. 1932 (New Deal, Dem dominance)
3. 1968 (law and order, conservatism)
4. 1896 (urban over rural)
5. 1828 (populism)
6. 2016 (authoritarianism)
7. 1800 (parties, transfer of power)
Closeness

1. 2000 (Florida recount)
2. 1876 (result overturned, Comp. of '77)
3. 1960 (Kennedy Nixon)
4. 1800 (12th amendment)
5. 1968 (Nixon Humphrey)
6. 1824 (decided by House)
7. 1948 ("Dewey defeats Truman")

True story: In 2000, when I was "going through some things," I did a three-day tryout to be an editor (!) at Bloomberg's then-newsroom in Princeton. I was horrified. I could tell people were afraid to leave their desks to go to the bathroom. And... 1/3
...there was a free lunchroom, but it seemed to ensure that no one left the premises. (I was offered the job and would have made more $$$, but in "Someone Saved My Life Tonight" mode I turned it down.) The point being... 2/3
...this kind of inhuman, soulless drive for a kind of win-at-all-costs yet empty capitalism is what defines the man, his business, and would probably define his presidency. I'd urge Democrats to think long and hard about the implications before they vote in the primaries 3/3

Let's not pretend it's only people on the LEFT in Congress and inside the DNC Media Complex that got caught with their pants down by the sudden drop of the Mueller report's release & the announcement of no further SC prosecutions.

Plenty on 'our side' were exposed too.
Several media outlets & prominent social media types & bloggers spent the entire 2 years of the Mueller Special Counsel selling stories to Trump fans based on their cool inside sources telling them what was going on.

Turns out their cool inside sources were shit.
You know who's always been open and honest about the fact he has no connections in DC, inside the FBI or the DOJ or the Congress or the White House or whatever?

Me.

3) We started to look for a connection between Gustavo Cisneros who is a billionaire mogul originally from Venezuela with strong ties to then leader Hugo Chavez. Cisneros was a huge donor to Chavez’s campaign and they were friends but that relationship changed.

Justin Caporale worked for First Lady Melania Trump as Director of Operations for the East Wing. He responded to an Acosta tweet last night & received this:

Justin Caporale (@justincap_) moved from the Office of the First Lady to work with the Trump campaign - doing communications & advance work for Trump's rallies. Acosta knew he worked for the First Lady & the President.

CNN's Acosta told him "Fuck You" anyway & then blocked him.
