As president he took JFK's bill, stalled in Congress, made it *much* stronger and pushed it to passage.

Also, yes, LBJ said the N-word on other occasions and could often be crude and racist! You’re right!

But that’s not proof that he said this *other* racist quote, and that definitely doesn’t change his actual record on civil rights laws when he was in Congress or the White House.
