If a reporter reaches out to you about a tweet of yours, that means they want to know more about the topic in the tweet and think you might be an expert who can help them.

If they just cared about the tweet, they’d just quote the tweet.

I think just to be safe, no one else should politely DM this man, or gently quote tweet him, or even retweet him, or you know, make eye contact or any audible noises in a three block radius.

I know I sound like a broken record on this point, but I’ll repeat this as often as it needs repeating:

Previously, articles of impeachment were drawn up against presidents for their abuse of power (Nixon, Clinton) and for obstructing and defying Congress (Johnson, Nixon).
Maybe someone on @RepMikeJohnson’s staff can walk him through these prior instances of presidential impeachment on “abuse of power” charges.
Then read @RepMikeJohnson the third article against Nixon for having failed “without lawful cause or excuse to produce papers and things as directed by duly authorized subpoenas issued by the Committee on the Judiciary of the House ... and willfully disobeyed such subpoenas.”

This is such a transparently phony performance I'm actually impressed the reporters didn't laugh at him as he delivered it.
I love how he blows right past the question to deliver his planned performance -- complete with his standard array of hand gestures and eye pops -- and then gets upset when he has to break character because he's interrupted by a reporter asking him to answer the question.
And then he parrots the pathetic idea that Hunter Biden's actions matter at all in these proceedings, like a two-bit defense attorney saying, sure, my client murdered that man, but he was a *really* sleazy guy and he totally had it coming.

Well, I'm no fancy White House lawyer, but it seems to me that one reason the House managers didn't spend a minute of their 24-hour presentation on the president's defense is that they assumed the president's defense lawyers would do that in their own 24-hour presentation.
Seriously, Trump's lawyers keep saying "They didn't tell you about this testimony. Why not?"

Because that's your job, not theirs. Are you new here?
They're doing this over and over. It's really weird.

The recent @twentyminutevc podcast by @HarryStebbings interviewing @semil got me thinking about portfolio construction in venture capital, so I thought it might be helpful to illustrate a fictional European seed stage VC portfolio and the outcomes needed for it to succeed...

Let's assume our little European seed stage fund has raised $75M. For simplicity, we'll ignore fee drag/recycling. Most VCs are targeting a 3x net return to LPs, i.e. you give me $1 and I will give you back $3. (After fees, the fund would need to return ~4x gross, i.e. $300M)

The fund needs to decide how to split up the $75M it has to invest. Suffice to say that this is a really complicated subject, about which much excellent material has been written (e.g. check out blog posts by @fredwilson, @benedictevans, @ganeumann and others)...

I’m at the airport in Dallas, waiting for my flight home to DC from El Paso, and something incredible is happening.
Our incoming plane is carrying the remains of an American pilot shot down over Vietnam in 1967. His remains were only recently recovered and identified and brought back to the US.
As we wait at the gate, we’re told that Captain Knight is coming home to Dallas. When he left from this very airport to fight in Vietnam his 5 year old son came to the airfield and waved goodbye. It was the last time he would see his father alive.

This thread summaries it based on expert evidence given to the courts.

This is how they set out to steal our democratic process:

1.
Platforms like Twitter and FB give campaigners outlets to communicate w/out worrying about how journalists/editors may change, interpret, or fact-check campaign messages. Removing editors/journalists from the flow of info removes checks on opinions & facts in circulation.

2.
By using social media, the claims of the Leave campaign went unchecked & they circumvented investigations by journalists into whether inpolitical claims were accurate. Instead, the opposition was left to counter erroneous & inaccurate claims. They could say what they wanted.
