Nozari: Getting from semantics to motor speech requires multiple mappings. Linear mappings work if the system is serial BUT its not. #motorspeech2020
nozari: pear maps lexically with kale, while bear maps with whale. They swap partners for motor mapping and the pairs become pear/bear and kale/whale - the mapping and subsequent activation is bidirectional. #motorspeech2020

Panel time Maas asks about priming vs interference. Nozari showed that the early studies showing priming were only with onset manipulation. Onset overlap facilitation only works when the speaker uses it to start the production in anticipation of the coda. #motorspeech2020
