Pete Buttigieg is in North Charleston, SC, for a town hall this afternoon. Five days until South Carolina’s First in the South Primary. 
A bit of a funny moment at Pete Buttigieg's town hall as Walter Clyburn Reed welcomes to the stage "Peter Paul Montgomery Buttigieg," only for State Rep. JA Moore, who's endorsed Buttigieg, to take the podium.
"I am not Pete Buttigieg," Moore jokes.

Pete Buttigieg tells voters in SC, "I know that it is especially humbling to be asking for the trust of African American voters, because when we are talking about that vote, we're not just talking about an expression of preference. We're talking about a vote that was hard won."
Buttigieg says "knowledge of the lived experience that I don't have" has been "humbling," "the next best thing that I can offer... is to listen to those have, to show up, to seek to understand, & to ensure that those voices are elevated in our campaign &...in our administration."
Pete Buttigieg thanks supporters like Gladys Muhammed, SC Rep JA Moore, Rep Anthony Brown, & Lamell McMorris for being "truth tellers" in his campaign, says "That truth telling might be the most dangerous thing we are missing right now in the White House."
Buttigieg was interrupted by South Bend Dems Chair Gladys Muhammad, who asked black voters to support Buttigieg. "I can't interrupt Miss Gladys, Buttigieg said.
Muhammad said, "We support Pete. We have a few disgruntled people who lost an election still stuck back in time."

Gladys Muhammad: "Pete is a young, white, straight – no – young, white, gay man. I’m an old, black, straight woman. And I support Pete Buttigieg...He has the academics & the intellectual, and he speaks the King’s English. But he also understands purpose."
