FG APPROVES $20M TECH FUND FOR YOUNG INNOVATORS

*N90B soft loan facility to be provided for small scale agric enterprises

In furtherance of the Buhari administration's drive to support Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), @BOINigeria has approved a $20m technology fund for young innovators, while @cenbank is offering a N90 Billion soft loan facility for small scale agriculture enterprises.
These were some of the outcomes of a meeting at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, which was presided over by Vice President @ProfOsinbajo on Tuesday, to review progress on the @MBuhari administration's efforts to support MSMEs.
It will be recalled that the National MSMEs clinics driven by the Vice President has now reached 26 States, with more Clinics to come in the series.
Also, the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control @NafdacAgency is now poised more than ever to register more Nigerians venturing into the food and drug businesses.
All @NigeriaGov agencies playing one role or the other in the MSMEs sector attended the meeting.

President @MBuhari has appointed retired Nigerian professional footballer, former Super Eagles player and Assistant Coach, Daniel Amokachi, as Nigeria’s Football Ambassador.
Amokachi, a member of the 1994 Super Eagles Team that won the African Nations Cup in Tunisia, was also in the Nigerian Olympic Football Team to the 1996 Atlanta Olympics that won the Gold Medal.
In addition to his football exploits in Europe, particularly in England where he won the FA Cup with Everton in 1995, Amokachi after retirement has managed Nasarawa United and Enyimba Football Club of Aba.

SUSPENSION OF ISSUANCE OF IMMIGRANT VISAS TO NIGERIANS:

Pres. @MBuhari has established a committee, to be Chaired by the Minister of Interior, to study & address updated U.S. requirements relating to the assessment of compliance with certain security criteria by foreign govts.
The committee will work with the U.S Government, INTERPOL and other stakeholders to ensure all updates are properly implemented.
Nigeria remains committed to maintaining productive relations with the United States and other international allies especially on matters of global security.

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, met today with South West Governors, the Attorney General of the Federation and the Inspector General of Police.

It’s NOT easy to get rid of a sitting president.

The steps in the process for impeaching a president are:

1– an impeachment resolution must be introduced by a member of the House of Representatives.
— The speaker of the House must then direct the U.S. House Committee on the Judiciary (or a special committee) to hold a hearing on the resolution to decide whether to put the measure to a vote by the full chamber and when to hold such a vote.
A simple majority of the Judiciary Committee must approve the resolution.

If the Judiciary Committee approves the resolution, it moves to a full vote on the House floor.

If a simple majority of the those present and voting in the House approve an article of impeachment,
