dont really think the same mechanism exists w girlfriends so, i was previously unaware of the extent to which this is a thing. its pure caveman status, there is a rush in obtaining a coconut / leopard skin / shiny rock for the cave partner, that is exploited in above situation
im pretty frugal broke life so i can also testify that this exists with very small transactions. i can only imagine that the dopamine increases exponentially when large sums of money are involved. really tempted to drop the findom hashtag here but im gonna abstain.

pretty obvious but you have to love that 24 snap where normies get a new OS update and switch from “what are you talking about” to “of course i know about that and its a big deal”. could tangibly feel it happen with brexit (in the US) and the migrant crisis, many things. one day.
a critical mass of information is reached and a viewpoint is consolidated and disseminated. still not entirely sure how it happens. with brexit it was a good one because at first normal people here obviously didnt know what to think but then [one day] the macro view was locked in
if u have been around for a while the migrant crisis was a good one as well. everyone was on the “what are u talking about. nothing like that is happening” (regardless of a political take on it) until [one day] they had the talking points downloaded and very strong opinions on it

sometimes when i need to take a break from working but still want to be "productive", i ask myself questions such as, what would it look like if there was a vaporwave-esque aesthetic based on north korea instead of japan, so theres a folder on my computer called juchewave
