The UK will cut VAT on female hygiene products to 0% after the transition period ends. Important to emphasize the EU is changing its VAT rules, so we wouldn't have had to leave in order to do so anyway (though it might have taken a bit longer). #TamponTax

So it is a significant development, but it shouldn't be held up as "proof" that the UK was right to leave the EU.

EU rules aren't carved in stone for all time. They adapt too. And generally (but not always) for the better, in response to concerns raised by member states.
Here's more background to all this. In fact, the UK helped drive the initiative that led the EU to reconsider its VAT rules. Our influence worked!

But then Brexit happened, and our side stopped pushing. The EU slowed off a bit (but has *not* given up).

The National Audit Office has prepared the first comprehensive report on Government spending on Brexit preparations. It estimates absolute minimum spend of £4.4 billion out of the £6.3 billion allocated. At least £1.9 billion was burnt up on 22,000 staff.

The report is laden with interesting figures, so I'll just pull a few out here...
- Even though not all the money was spent, some individual government departments overshot their budgets by £301 million total, meaning Brexit took away from the other work they were doing.
- £288 million went to external consultants, so the big consulting firms will have been rolling in Brexit loot
- Meanwhile, local governments received a relatively lean £104 million across the whole country.
- Defra spent the most; a lot went on duplicating EU regulatory regimes

There's been quite a bit of scientific discussion about why men might be more susceptible to the coronavirus than women, but until yesterday I hadn't seen mention of what "all men know" ie men have poor toilet hygiene. Distressingly many walk out without washing their hands.☹️
It's probably one of those things that is such commonsense that it was on nobody's radar. Neither gender has much experience of the other's intimate habits in public toilets, otherwise it would have been much easier to get to that💡moment.
That's not to say that the other ideas about chromosome-related differences etc. are wrong. I have no idea, frankly. But if the very best way to stop the spread of the coronavirus is frequent, thorough hand washing, and women do so more than men (which on average they do) then...

besides w/o some form of organized systemic documentation of opinions of faith where would we get the Bible and/or many books spiritualists can point to?

there was no internet & or accessible depositories of teaching tools one can take upon a self discovery process back in days
so i hear ya, Yig, as i hear many of this movements favorites from Sean to others that religion is for sheep

that those who go to a church are somehow sheeple

but i say to you all please recognize the importance these formed systems of faith had in shaping the free spiritual
journeys many "enlightened" people take

we must first stand before we walk

and walk before we run

many in their disgust for the bad that religions put on us

too quickly eschew the good it can do to come together with like minds
or the good knowledge these "religions" taught
