I think a list is great but unless it describes something beyond just "places to license type" then it isn't as useful as it *could* be.

There are SO MANY great foundries. The problem is not a lot of great typefaces from which we can choose.

@markjohnsoncc @espiekermann @rnkeller @vllg I really do not want to get into a heated discussion, nor do I wish to anger people whom I consider friends. But, the list should be complete. Then the designers can decide if they want to work with an independent foundry or otherwise. This all being dependent upon their needs.

@markjohnsoncc @espiekermann @rnkeller @vllg The reality is that most/many designers have foundries whom they work with and will continue to work. They chose the foundries based on the fonts they wanted to use and it is assumed that the EULA works within their needs.

@markjohnsoncc @espiekermann @rnkeller @vllg Your list, and other lists, could become more useful and utilized if they shared a bigger picture. Otherwise, it is just another list that you have to maintain and hope that it gets used.

@markjohnsoncc @espiekermann @rnkeller @vllg Designers not wanting to work with vendors or conglomerates could filter those options out. Thus maintaining their own chosen set of ideals.

@markjohnsoncc @espiekermann @rnkeller @vllg I have a small handful of foundries that I use on the regular because I have developed relationships with them AND their EULA suits my needs. But I know I am an oddball because who really reads the EULA until they've received a cease and desist?
