The Senate could pass the House/White House compromise legislation in mere minutes if all 100 senators said okay. But right now — my sources are saying the earliest we’ll know if that’s possible is Tuesday when Senate Republicans meet for lunch
There’s urgency from top leaders to move quickly, per my reporting.

But individual senators have various hang ups — Sen. Ron Johnson put out a statement about problems he has with the bill, for example
And Sen. Mike Lee has issues with the reauthorization of FISA that has my sources telling me means the Senate faces a long drawn out process on that, set to begin in earnest Monday evening
But. AGAIN. The Senate can pass the coronavirus bill at any time if all senators agree.

Multiple sources tell NBC News anxiety is on the rise among lawmakers as more cases are reported and the disease spreads Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, announced late Sunday he will self-quarantine after shaking hands with a CPAC attendee who is now hospitalized with COVID19.
And Rep. Paul Gosar, R-Ariz., is also self-quarantining after close contact with the CPAC attendee, as are several members of his senior staff. Gosar is closing his Washington office for the week.

“Members are very nervous,” a senior Democratic leadership aide said.

Yesterday evening a delightfully peaceful and well-mannered courier called and handed me this from @Citymapper 💚
I'm excited because I love companies changing the commercial model of their sector. Interestingly I paid for this almost a month ago and the earliest I can use it is Monday, so clever @Citymapper have had my cash for a month and probably used it to pay for the PASS and delivery.

Okay, doing this one first because this is a crisis.

You have correctly noted that, right now, you are anxious and you are panicked. You know what happens with both of those? The brain decides the current situation might actually kill you.
When one's life is on the line, niceties go out the window. Your brain has moved blood away from the frontal lobe - which could prioritize these issues and help you make a decision - into the "3 F's" portion of the brain. You are, quite literally, frozen in place.
You are the rabbit, flattening yourself, hoping the hawk spots the other rabbit.

This is a perfectly reasonable response.

If you are a rabbit.

You are not a rabbit.

You are a person with mental health issues who is currently unable to problem-solve.

Why not just go speak to the Grand Jury? Clearly, it's not about avoiding spending more time talking about the investigation and your experience...
