Morrison is right that Obama's NSC was big and bloaty. But "it just shows HOW MUCH we valued it by squishing it into another office" is classic Beltway bullshittery. Anyone who's ever worked for a government agency knows how that works. /2
And "commingling expertise" doesn't work like that either. Combining pandemic guys and WMD guys isn't valuing expertise, it's finding a job for ppl whose office you just killed.
