If you don't understand that this moment was one of the pinnacles of screen acting and American cinema, I cannot help you.

To me the final 'trilogy' ended with TLJ, which imo had a really nice conclusion.

I realized pretty early on TROS was basically just a fanfic reboot that managed to get a huge budget and the same cast, and from there I could just relax and smile.
TROS is best experienced as a reboot, honestly. It desperately shoehorns a totally different foundational scenario from the other 2 movies into its first three minutes in a way that I found pretty funny, honestly.

Then there was some cool SW stuff, some of which I quite liked.

Folks, your favorite Star Wars non-fan is going to do a #StarWars rewatch. Reactions to follow.

(I'm not literally live-tweeting, but I am transcribing notes I wrote while watching, so it'll be a little stream-of-consciousnesses.)
For context:

I have seen the original and prequel trilogies exactly once, several years ago. (I remember very little.) I've seen The Force Awakens . . . thrice, maybe? Four times? I saw The Last Jedi once, and I saw The Rise of Skywalker when it came out last month.
I saw Rogue One once, but HEARTILY disliked it, so I'm not sure I want to include that one in my rewatch. I never saw Solo and I don't think it's on Disney Plus right now. We'll see about that one. I may or may not still have access to TROS by the time I get to its slot in line.

Last week, my firm Anvil Strategies went in to the field to poll Star Wars fans about their opinions on the franchise. Here are some of our most interesting results: (Thread)
First we asked people if they consider themselves to be a Star Wars fan and then asked them to name all 8 (currently released) films in the Skywalker trilogies. We terminated calls with people who couldn't name all 8 films. Total sample size was 3400 people.
