#SusanCollins is on the #SenateIntelligenceCommittee. I contacted her 12+ times over 6 months to get the answer to 1 Q: Does @SenatorCollins agree w/ #Mueller that Trump could've been charged w/ multiple counts of obstruction if not president?

#SusanCollins: #Mueller didn't determine whether Trump obstructed justice.

#Mueller: Vol 2 "summarizes our obstruction-of-justice investigation of the President." Evidence was gathered "while memories were fresh" b/c a "President does not have immunity after he leaves office."

#SusanCollins: #Barr was right to clear Trump.

#Mueller: "If we had confidence...that the President
clearly did not commit obstruction of justice, we would so state." This report "does not exonerate him" (Vol 2 p 2 & p 182).

But #Collins was content to let #Barr claim "the President had not broken the law."

Took me 12+ attempts to find out whether #SusanCollins thinks Trump could face criminal charges of obstruction when he leaves office. She finally answered: no.

Mueller's last 4 words: this report "does not exonerate him" (p 182).

I read the #Mueller Report. But I'm nerdy & retired. A lot of people don't have time to download long gov't reports. They count on their elected officials to give them an honest assessment of the findings.
