4. Orphans
Extracts from the Concluding Address by Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad at Jalsa Salana UK 2019
The Holy Quran’s teachings were never changed & will remain until the Last Day. The Quran covers all topics; covers academia, science, the rights of Allah & rights of people. It contains teachings for social interactions amongst the community to national & international relations.
The teachings mentioned in the Holy Qur'an are relevant till the Day of Judgement, and are applicable to people of every age. Hence Holy Quran is a comprehensive and a perfect Book, which details the rights of Allah and His creations.
1. The Holy Quran Defender of Human Rights
The Promised Messiah(as) said that the Shariah has two main areas – the rights of Allah and the rights of man. The rights of Allah include His worship and not to ever worship anything else. The rights of man, is to truly take care of people, causing them no pain whatsoever.
The Promised Messiah(as) states that, People should think good of others, rather than thinking ill of them. By doing so, one will develop love, unity and strength amongst their brothers and sisters.
2. Parents rights:

In the Holy Quran, Allah greatly emphasizes kind treatment towards parents, especially when they reach old age.
Holy Quran also says:
“And lower to them the wing of humility out of tenderness. And say, ‘My Lord, have mercy on them even as they nourished me in my childhood.”(17.25)
Furthermore, Allah says about the rights of the parents and how to treat them:
وَ وَصَّیۡنَا الۡاِنۡسَانَ بِوَالِدَیۡہِ ۚ حَمَلَتۡہُ اُمُّہٗ وَہۡنًا عَلٰی وَہۡنٍ وَّ فِصٰلُہٗ فِیۡ عَامَیۡنِ اَنِ اشۡکُرۡ لِیۡ وَ لِوَالِدَیۡکَ ؕ اِلَیَّ الۡمَصِیۡرُ ﴿۱۵﴾
Allah mentions how a mother passes through great pain to give birth to her child. Allah then talks of the kind treatment and friendliness one should have with their parents, even if they act harshly.
" ‘And if they contend with thee to make thee set up equals with Me ........
......... concerning which thou hast no knowledge, obey them not, but be a kind companion to them in all worldly affairs; and in spiritual matters follow the way of him who turns to Me. Then unto Me will be your return and I shall inform you of what you used to do.’(31.16)
The Holy Prophet(sa) said the most beloved act in the sight of Allah is worshiping Allah, Treating your parents with kindness. Then jihad(striving in the way of Allah)
Once a man came to the Holy Prophet(sa) and sought permission to go on Jihad [by the sword]. The Holy Prophet(sa) told him that his Jihad was to stay back and serve his parents.
3. Children's right:

Holy Quran commands not to kill children due to poverty as it is God Who grants them provision & killing them is a great sin. Killing children means not to bring them up properly educate them, not to fulfil their needs etc.
The Holy Prophet(sa) said to respect children & give them a good upbringing.

The Prophet(sa) also said that the best gift a father can give his children is to grant them a good upbringing.
The Promised Messiah (as) said, “My own state is such that there is not a single prayer of mine in which I do not pray for my friends, children and wife.
Islam set the rights of children whose parents have divorced. Allah says that a (divorced) mother should fulfil two years of weaning if the father desires. At the same time, the father has the responsibility of providing provisions for the child and the mother.
Here, the needs of a woman have been considered, the needs of the child have also been considered, and has also stopped the mother and father from making the child a means of causing each other pain. This can also adversely affect the upbringing of the child.
4. Orphans right:

The Holy Quran lays great stress upon protecting the rights of orphans as it says:
And give not to the foolish your property which Allah has made for you a means of support; but feed them therewith and clothe them and speak to them words of kind advice.(4.6)
The verse has drawn attention toward the upbringing and care of orphan children. If they have wealth and you are wealthy, then the rights associated with the proper upbringing of orphans is that you bring them up and that you do not devour their wealth.
And if there be anyone whose own financial situation is not stable and he has been given the care of orphan children, then he can partake of the wealth of the orphan child. However, do not use it with the intention that ‘I should scarf it all down for myself.’
Rather, use it sparingly, so that when the orphan child grows up, the remaining amount is of benefit to him, and at that time, relinquish the wealth to him. This is the Islamic teaching, and these are the rights that Islam grants to orphans.
The rights of orphans, protecting their wealth and giving them a good upbringing. This is the great teaching of Islam.
The Holy Prophet(sa) laid great emphasis on the care of daughters. He said not to hate daughters, as they are the ones who love more than anyone else.
