Every year on 9/11 our nation pauses to remember those who lost their lives in the horrific terror attacks that took place 19 years ago today. Many of us can think back to that morning of #September11, 2001 & remember exactly where we were when the attacks occurred.
Thread: 1/10
Over the past 19 years our nation has collectively experienced and expressed a gamut of emotions including: grief, honor, fear, outrage, borderline panic, remembrance, #NeverForget and #DemandJustice.
2/10
As a citizen of the United States of America and the son of a military veteran, I honor and remember those who lost their lives due to terror 19 years ago today.
3/10
As a citizen of the Navajo Nation & the grandson of boarding school survivors I want to use this day as a teaching moment ,especially for white Americans & those who struggle to understand the ongoing protests re: racial injustice that are taking place throughout our nation.
4/10
The emotions our nation is collectively feeling today (grief, honor, fear, outrage, borderline panic, remembrance, #NeverForget and #DemandJustice) are the same emotions that many #Natives, African Americans and other POC feel every time there is systemic violence...

enacted against our communities, such as the murders of #AhmaudArbery and #GeorgeFloyd, the shooting of #JacobBlake or the ongoing crisis throughout Indian Country known as Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls (#MMIWG).
6/10
When writing about the injustice of residential schools in Canada and the resulting Truth And Reconciliation Commission, George Erasmus, (Dene Nation, co-chair of the Royal Commission on Aboriginal Peoples) used the following quote:
7/10
“Where common memory is lacking, where people do not share in the same past, there can be no real community. Where community is to be formed, common memory must be created.”
8/10
As a candidate for POTUS, someone who is a dual citizen of the US & the Navajo Nation, the son of a military veteran & the grandson of boarding school survivors, I invite our nation to create a common memory, not just regarding 9/11 but over our entire history.

White supremacy is so systemic in the United States that in #Election2020 it literally has #BIPOC and other marginalized people repeating the mantra that "if you don't vote for a white, land-owning male from the one percent (I.e. #JoeBiden) you are throwing your vote away."
I am the only candidate in #Election2020 whose platform includes abolishing slavery, honoring treaties & removing the racism, sexism & white supremacy from the Constitution. Neither #JoeBiden or #DonaldJTrump have any intention of addressing our problems at a foundational level.
If we want change, real change, systemic change, then we need to take the courageous step of running and voting outside the two party system of #DEMS & #GOP. That system exists to maintain the status quo.

With new independent and third-party candidates like Kanye West and Brock Pierce running for President, it's brought more attention to my campaign. I’m often asked if a vote for me is just a vote for Donald Trump. This thread explains why that argument has no merit.
I find it interesting that I’m being told that I shouldn't be running more and more now that the Democratic Party has removed all of the diverse voices from their platform and nominated Joe Biden, a white land-owning male from the 1%.
Let's be honest: Joe Biden is not the most compelling candidate, nor does he have a particularly clear vision. There were other Democratic candidates that were better! Yet, in the party's eyes, he benefited the establishment and it was his "turn" to run.

Why am I still running for POTUS?
B/c in the midst of the greatest financial, health & racial crises in generations, our nation's simplistic 2 party system is offering 2 white, land-owning men from the 1 percent as the only options for a solution. And I don't believe that's true. Image
I am a dual citizen of the USA and the Navajo Nation. I announced my independent campaign 12 months ago and my vision is to build a nation where We the People truly means #AllThePeople.

As a person of color with a strong critique of our nation's foundations, I decided to run as an independent precisely so my campaign could remain viable even after the GOP and DEMS removed all POC from their pools of candidates.

You probably don't know this, but today (Friday, Nov. 29) is the 'official' #NativeAmericanHeritageDay. The fact that our country has insists on honoring Native peoples on #BlackFriday, which in 2019 is also the anniversary of the Sand Creek Massacre (1864)...

Thread: 1/12
is a testimony to the multi-generational & communal manifestation of white America's perpetration induced traumatic stress (PITS). If there is ever a day in the list of civic religious holidays where Americans are most certain to be distracted/sedated, Black Friday is it.

For this reason, I have attemptied to interject into the consumeristic feeding frenzy of our nation a small dose of #UnsettlingTruths.

I love the cover of our new book. Not only does it incorporate the design of an actual Navajo rug, but I had the honor of meeting

My heart breaks at the news of another mass shooting by a white male on Saturday, August 31 in Odessa, Texas.

Since the last series of mass shootings in El Paso and Dayton just four weeks ago, I have devoted significant time to studying the Second Amendment.
Thread: 1/8
It is quite short. Just four phrases separated by commas.

"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

I have an analysis on the entire amendment that I will share at a later date, but for now I would like to highlight the third and fourth phrases.

"the right of the PEOPLE to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed"

It breaks my heart to realize what constitutes a #ConstitutionalCrisis in the USA.
- That the 13th Amendment doesn't actually abolish slavery is not a Constitutional Crisis.
Thread 1/6
- That the 2nd Amendment is turning our schools into war zones, our children into human shields and our teachers into a government sanctioned armed militia is not a #ConstitutionalCrisis
2/6
- That our prisons are filled with people of color is not a Constitutional crisis.
- That our government still cannot account for thousands of children separated from their families at our borders is not a #ConstitutionalCrisis
