That's the number of requests processed for North Carolina absentee by mail ballots, as of today's (9/2) report

This represents a nearly 16X increase in requests on the same day in 2016

A data thread of these requests:

#ncpol #ncvotes
The 591K processed requests are from 98 out of 100 NC counties. Perquimans and Tyrrell counties continue not to report anything, though their 2016 total requests were quite small.

NC voters can now request their ABM ballots online: votebymail.ncsbe.gov/app/home

#ncpol #ncvotes
Just for comparison to 2016's totals:

231K requests were submitted in 2016 for absentee by mail ballots

~200K ABM ballots were returned & accepted

NC is about to triple the 2016 returned & accepted number in just requests this year
