This is not a one-off for Global. Jill Krop has to resign in disgrace because of the racism at the outlet.

Global News Director Announces Resignation Following VICE News Investigation vice.com/en/article/3az… via @vice
Systemic racism, is a form of racism that is embedded as normal practice within society or an organization.

Racism is part of Global's business model. White leadership, white ownership, white perspective.
Global reporter's 1st tweet wasn't about METL's report documenting #SystemicRacism.

For him it was about the "game" and he couldn't even report that right.

No evidence of an "organized" game but anecdotal and episodic evidence of a game that "resembled" what was reported.
I listened to Mary Ellen Turpel-Lafond's answer a few times to get it right.

The systemic racism isn't the important part for Corus Entertainment employees.
Sarah Macdonald, Global reporter, blocked me in the spring when I challenged her reporting on Wet'suwet'en.

She claimed the RCMP left Wet'suwet'en territory. Unist'ot'en camp tweeted photos of RCMP vehicles. I challenged her false reporting.

So she blocked me.
Keith Baldrey blocked me because I challenged his false reporting on in-school transmission.

While not a racial issue, it shows a pattern of behaviour from Global employees when challenged.

Some News1130 employees have a problem with public input, it seems.

Maybe a career in journalism isn't your thing.
The idea we should roll over and accept everything coming from the govt or heath authorities is anthesis to a functioning democracy, even in a pandemic.

Should we accept 800+ daily cases & double-digit daily deaths without question?

Shame on those in the media suggesting that.
Data transparency.

We lack occupational data for positive cases, no data on school cases other than a notification letter, no data at the city-level while other provinces drill down to the neighbourhood-level, no data on race or income level.

DBH saying "it's exciting news" the UK approved a vaccine, outside of Russia and China she added.
Canada's racism will prevent us from accessing Russia's vaccine.

What's the purpose of @jjhorgan's presser, other than lecturing us as usual.

His govt has prioritized the economy and profit over public health and lives.

And with no more restrictions we'll keep getting 500+ daily cases #s, more hospitalizations, more deaths.

Zussman Global - childcare question, asking about reimbursing parents.

Horgan - "appreciates that proposal" - lol sure he does.
Zussman followup - says significant gaps in fed programs, asking about paying parents/workers to stay at home.

Horgan - "I want to fix that gap" - then why hasn't he?

7. Everyone has the right to life, liberty and security of the person and the right not to be deprived thereof except in accordance with the principles of fundamental justice.

Our "right to life" is being threatened by #covid19 and govt's inaction. @CDCofBC

Our risk of death has increased and by keeping the economy opened, ignoring health science, our increased risk of death is deliberate.

Govt is causing our increased risk of death. One could make a case for criminal negligence causing death. @CDCofBC @adriandix

Vietnam - a country of 95 million has only 35 #covid19 deaths.

BC - a province of only 5 million has 457 #covid19 deaths.

Vietnam values its residents lives. BC clearly doesn't. @CDCofBC

We need to close schools not give more $$ to school districts to keep schools open.

Parents are not sending their children to school because it's not safe.

Disappointed with the @BCGreens call here. Giving more $ to school districts might have made sense in March but not now.

It's too late to safely keep schools open. We need @SoniaFurstenau to call for schools to close.
All 3 parties seem united in fighting a virus with an economy. @BCGreens @bcndp @bcliberals

Science is difficult for political parties.
