Over the years, #China’s relationship with the #EU has withstood profound changes in the world. It has focused on dialogue, cooperation and mutual benefit, and demonstrated strong vitality by progressing with the times. 🇨🇳🇪🇺
It is important to stay committed to peaceful coexistence, open cooperation, #multilateralism, and dialogue and consultation. #China and the #EU are comprehensive strategic partners, not systemic rivals.
In 2020, #China became the #EU's largest trading partner for the first time. The two sides signed the agreement on #GeographicalIndications, decided to establish high-level dialogue mechanisms on #environment & #climate and on digital cooperation, and concluded #BIT negotiations.
#China and the #EU should continue working together to tackle global challenges, promote a #multipolar world, economic #globalization and greater #democracy in international relations, and inject more stability and certainty into the world.
China supports a bigger role of EU in international affairs. The multilateralism we advocate must be dedicated to unity and cooperation rather than group politics. It needs to transcend systemic difference rather than draw lines along ideology.
By working together in the spirit of mutual understanding, mutual accommodation and equal consultation, the two sides can open up broad prospects for #China-#EU cooperation.

Japan’s militarist past, marked by devastating wars of aggression and brutal crimes against humanity, brought untold suffering on this region and beyond.
Instead of drawing serious lessons from its past, Japan has displayed a dangerous tendency of rearming itself, with sharp rises in its annual defense spending for the 11th year running and constant readjustment of its defense policy aimed at military breakthrough.
To justify its aggressive military build-up, Japan has been falsely hyping up regional tensions. It is even seeking to bring NATO into the Asia-Pacific. All of this makes people wonder whether Japan is tearing itself away from post-war peaceful development.
The US-Japan joint statement contains manipulated & misleading narratives aimed at justifying military build-up by propagating & hyping up the so-called “nuclear threat from China”. We firmly reject this.
China is firmly committed to a defensive nuclear strategy.
We have honored our pledge to “no first use” of nuclear weapons at any time and under any circumstances and unconditionally not to use or threaten to use nuclear weapons against non-nuclear weapon states or nuclear-weapon-free zones.
China is the only one among the five nuclear weapon states to have made these pledges. We have kept our nuclear capabilities at the minimum level required by national security. For any country, as long as they do not use nuclear weapons against China, they have nothing to worry
In respons to a paper prepared by the EU’s foreign service advising members to diversify supply chains away from China, FM spokesperson said the global industrial & supply chains, as they currently exist, are the result of the combined force of market & the choices of businesses.
Arbitrarily placing curbs for political purposes disrupts international cooperation and destabilizes industrial and supply chains. It is not conducive to the development of industries and serves no country’s interest.
China and the EU are partners, not rivals. Our economies are closely linked and highly complementary. Our cooperation far outweighs competition. As noted by EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell, Chinese goods have done much better
China’s complete reunification is a process that cannot be halted. National reunification is an essential step towards national rejuvenation. Peaceful cross-Strait reunification is of benefit not only to the Chinese nation, but to all peoples & the int'l community as a whole.
We call on the international community to have a right understanding of the Taiwan question, support China’s reunification, enhance commitment to the one-China principle and unequivocally reject “Taiwan independence”.
The root cause of the current tensions across the Taiwan Strait is that the DPP authorities have been attempting to solicit US support to seek independence & some forces in the US have been seeking to use the Taiwan question to contain China.
The one-China principle brooks no distortion or challenge. The connotation of the one-China principle is crystal-clear, i.e. there is only one #China in the world & #Taiwan is part of China. The Government of the #PRC is the sole legal government representing the whole of China.
The #one-China principle is a prevailing international consensus and widely accepted basic norm in international relations. It is affirmed in #UNGA Resolution 2758. It is the political foundation for interactions between #China and all countries in the world.
181 countries have established diplomatic relations with #China on the basis of #one-China principle. This fully shows that standing up for the one-China principle is the right thing to do. It has the overwhelming support of the int'l community & represents the trend of #world.
