My office stood up to the Trump administration every time it tried to trample the rights of New Yorkers and Americans across the country.
We worked tirelessly to challenge this administration's illegal attacks — and we successfully stopped some of its most dangerous ones.
We successfully:

✅Protected #DACA and the right of #Dreamers to live here.

✅Preserved the integrity of the #2020Census & stopped the citizenship question.

✅Defended access to the Trusted Traveler Program.

✅Guarded the health coverage of millions who depend on the #ACA.
➡️Took dozens of legal actions to protect the environment, including over 70 actions in 2020 alone.

➡️Stopped attacks on the #USPS and attempts to undermine our election.
➡️Protected women’s constitutional right to an abortion and reproductive care.

and so much more.
In total, we filed 74 lawsuits against the Trump administration, and successfully protected so many of our communities and our most basic rights.

I look forward to working with the Biden-Harris administration to undo these dangerous policies and uphold the rule of law.

#BREAKING: I’m filing a lawsuit against the New York City Police Department to bring an end to its pattern of repeatedly and blatantly violating the rights of New Yorkers.

No one is above the law — not even the individuals charged with enforcing it.
Our landmark lawsuit outlines the @NYPDnews' years of using excessive force and making false arrests against New Yorkers, most recently during racial justice protests in 2020.

This unlawful conduct has led to severe injuries and violated the basic right to peaceful protest.
The NYPD and its senior leaders failed to address this longstanding pattern of abuse by not properly training, supervising, and disciplining officers to prevent misconduct, despite knowing and publicly admitting that it violated the rights of New Yorkers.

2020 was a year of great challenges, but we were still able to accomplish so much to protect the rights of all New Yorkers.

Our annual report highlights some of the biggest legal, policy, and community actions we took this year.
This year, we:

➡️Led landmark, bipartisan lawsuits against @Facebook and @Google

➡️Filed 37 lawsuits against the Trump administration to stop its harmful and regressive policies
✅ Stopped the Trump administration's attempts to dismantle #DACA in the U.S. Supreme Court

✅ Protected New Yorkers' access to Global Entry and other Trusted Traveler Programs

✅ Won a major lawsuit to block ICE from making arrests in and around state courthouses

Today, we're going to the Supreme Court to continue our challenge against President Trump's attempt to politicize the #2020Census and exclude undocumented immigrants from the congressional apportionment.

We won't allow this president to put politics above the law.

The Constitution & Census Act are crystal clear — every person residing in the US during the census, regardless of legal status, must be counted.

The president is trying to politicize the census to deny immigrant-rich states, like New York, our fair representation in Congress.

Today I'm standing with @gillibrandny, @RepJerryNadler, and advocates to urge New Yorkers to complete the #2020Census.

Our democracy depends on the census, and we have to ensure the most accurate count of the population.

We have 30 days left. Image
From Congressional representation, to funding for our:
there is so much at stake.
Complete the census today:
Hoy me presento con @gillibrandny, @RepJerryNadler, y activistas para instar a los neoyorquinos a completar el #2020census.

Nuestra democracia depende del censo, y tenemos que asegurar el recuento más exacto de la población.

Nos quedan 30 días.

I took action to force the Trump Organization, and specifically EVP Eric Trump, to comply with my office’s ongoing investigation into its financial dealings.

For months, the Trump Organization has failed to fully comply with our subpoenas in this investigation.
Our investigation began after Michael Cohen testified before Congress that Trump’s annual financial statements inflated the values of his assets to obtain favorable terms for loans & insurance coverage, while also deflating the value of other assets to reduce real estate taxes.
We are seeking thousands of documents and testimony from multiple witnesses regarding several Trump Organization properties and transactions, including from Eric Trump, who was intimately involved in one or more transactions under review.

#BREAKING: I filed a lawsuit to dissolve the National Rifle Association for years of self-dealing and illegal conduct.

The @NRA is fraught with fraud and abuse.

No organization is above the law.
We are seeking to dissolve the NRA for years of self-dealing and illegal conduct that violate New York’s charities laws and undermine its own mission.

The NRA diverted millions of dollars away from its charitable mission for personal use by senior leadership.
Our lawsuit charges the NRA as a whole and four senior leaders, including Wayne LaPierre, with failing to manage the NRA’s funds and failing to follow numerous state and federal laws.

These actions contributed to the loss of more than $64 million in just three years for the NRA.
