Protests against Putin in Russia so far. In extreme cold (down to -58F). It keeps going. Most likely missed some places. I might crash before it gets to Moscow and St. Petersburg (in two hours.)

Julia Navalny (Navalny's wife) is detained in Moscow. Most of the opposition leaders are in jail. Russian people keep marching (see below)

Moscow and St. Petersburg have joined by now. It is 10.20 pm. Massive and peaceful marches first; arrests and police violence at this point. In Moscow, protesters made Putin a snowman and played soccer with a police helmet.
Currently, in Moscow, people are being arrested and beaten up on Strastnoy boulevard (means "Passion" blvd, by the circus, I used to work across the street..)

Navalny's allies just called for the whole country protests next weekend. There are arrests/beatings in St.Petersburg now.
In Moscow, a big crowd is walking towards the prison where Navalny is kept. It is called "Sailor's Silence" and is one of the worst in Russia. 40 solitary confinement cells. Murderous history. Magnitsky was killed here.

In Moscow, protestors approached the jail but the access is blocked by street-cleaning trucks. People are being arrested.

Riot police attacked and arrested several dozens of protestors by the jail. Several reports of severe beatings.

#LAPD I usually don't comment on local news but this police brutality/lack of action extreme case needs to get out in the world and be addressed as it is unacceptable, absurd and might be a provocation. An almost bipolar pattern. Thread.
1. #LAPD attacked peaceful BLM protestors who gathered by the LA Mayor's residence for 13 days. They used batons on people as seen in the videos above and here.

2) Anti-Biden, anti-Democrats, anti-democracy, "Soros", "Satan", anti-antifa, "COVID is a hoax", "pedophilia" themed memes and posts injected into Russian-speaking FB groups and spreading to the common information space.
3) A Facebook group hashtag Stop the Steal that spread election misinformation and incited violence grew to 350,000 members and FB shut it down. Russia Today(RT) hissed. Hashtag, posts and memes are still floating around
