Annnnnnd now Lionel Hutz is up.
Right out of the gate he screws up, says he's the lead prosecutor instead of defense.
He starts out agreeing that everything that happened on 1/06 was horrible and everyone responsible should be prosecuted. Well, then...
Now he’s distinguishing between manslaughter and murder. Um...
Now he's slobbering all over the Senators by saying they aren't normal people, they're special and better than everyone else. Or something.
He just addressed Senator Toomey as "Pat". While speaking on the Senate floor. During an Impeachment Trial.
OK, I had to use the snowblower on the driveway. What'd I miss?
Now he's saying that if Donald Trump committed a crime, why hasn't he been arrested yet?

Wait.
He wraps up by openly admitting that Donald Trump was indeed removed from office BY THE VOTERS.

Someone's not gonna be happy about that.
The second lawyer is now claiming that 74 million Americans were disenfranchised because...81 million people voted for Biden. Or something.
This guy is going the true MAGA route. Claiming the Dems "manufactured" the footage.
OK, I'm done. Can't handle any more of this jackass.

Note: This doesn't mean the #TexasFoldEm case is over; all it means is that the DoJ is now formally DEFENDING the #ACA instead of siding with the GOP plaintiffs.

The case was already heard by SCOTUS in November. The decision is expected sometime this spring or summer.
The other option is for Dems to #MootTheSuit via simple legislation to either:

1. ⬆️ the mandate penalty back to $1 or more
2. Formally state that the mandate can be ✂️
3.❌ the mandate language itself:

Still waiting on final data from CA & DC and *any* data from NY, RI & VT, but so far:

--HC.gov states up 6.8% year over year
--State exchanges up 1.4% year over year

Inthe past, state exchanges consistently outperformed the federal exchange. So what's different this year? 2/
Answer: #COVID19 & Medicaid expansion.

In states which have expanded Medicaid, a big chunk of the newly unemployed/low-income shifted from #ACA plans to medicaid.

In non-expansion states, a big chunk of those folks moved to heavily-subsidized exchange plans instead. 3/

1. DON'T MISS THE (new) DEADLINE!

Nearly every state is offering a *new* #COVID19 Enrollment Period this spring! Some have already started; most begin on February 15th. Here's a summary of the start/end dates as well as who's eligible to enroll via the new enrollment period: 2/ Image
2. BE CAREFUL TO AVOID JUNK PLANS!

Make sure you enroll in an #ACA-compliant policy by using an *official* ACA exchange website.

If you *do* use a 3rd-party site, make sure it's an *authorized* ACA enrollment partner which *only* sells ACA policies, like Health Sherpa. 3/

THAT'S what I'm all geeked about. HOWEVER, there's a couple of important caveats/tweaks:

1. It would only be for 2 years for now (it needed to be made permanent even before the pandemic hit.)

2. One of those years is *2021* (that's right, it'd be retroactive!)

📣 Here's an updated summary of the new #ACA #COVIDEnrollmentPeriod start/end dates & who's eligible in each state. #GetCovered!
Remember, even if you fall outside the parameters above, ANY documented U.S. resident is ALWAYS eligible for a 60-day Special Enrollment Period if they have a qualifying life experience like losing coverage, getting married/divorced, moving, giving birth, etc. #GetCovered!
Also, Native Americans & Alaska Natives can enroll in #ACA exchange plans year-round.

FINALLY, you can enroll in MEDICAID or CHIP year round in any state, and you can enroll in the Essential Plan, MinnesotaCare or Connector Care year round in NY, MN & MA respectively.

Also, using the *literal* geographic center of the country as the metaphor supports those stupid election maps showing a sea of red with dots of blue, even though more people for Dems than Republicans. The big Dem cities are mostly on the coasts. Guess what’s in the “middle”?
Also, as both @abcontigo & @corpusnovus have noted, this leaves out Alaska and Hawaii, both of which happen to include a high population of non-white residents.

The actual geographic center of the U.S., when you include them, is near Belle Fourche, SD.

Lebanon, KS is located in Smith County, KS, population 3,600, which voted for Donald Trump by 67 points.

Belle Fourche, SD is located in Butte County, SD, population 10,100, which voted for Donald Trump by 58 points.

Either way, according to Jeep, that's where "the middle" is.
