More than the half of #Syria|ns are refugees or IDPs. Everything started as we demanded for democracy and more rights in March 2011. Instead of reforms #Assad killed protestors and started a war against the people two years as he realized that the uprising can't be stopped. 
The Mukhabarat officials assure in their private conversations one million civilians were killed in jails and we lost almost the same, if not more, by bombing. The #Assad used all kind of weapons even chemical to kill the will of change in #Syria|ns and set Alawis infront.
This took the situation for more resistance & people decided to fight back & this was an opportunity to make it an open war & an opportunity for foreign power and radicals. Assad wanted this situation to bury our dreams under the prominent slogan "#Assad or we burn the country".
The wishes of #Assad turned to nightmare as he lost the most of #Syria lands. Over 2/3 controlled by fighters supported by regional countries which supported Assad few months earlier but turned against him due the Assad's brutality and other reasons.
In the preparation for war #Assad released Jihadis of alQaeda & other groups and in some places made it easy for locals to get weapons. Iran was also involved directly as Assad was near to lose they sent thousands of fighters even Afghani refugees to fight Syrians on their land.
In a mystery way the Daesh/ISIS born and controlled huge weapon depots and vehicles in Iraq. Senior Jihadis released in Iraq in other mysterious way. The ISIS in #Syria concentrated all power to fight the local resistance. They also declared the uprising/revolution as Kufur!
ISIS raised rapidly, both #Assad & #Iran lost the control on them on the early stage but still have the ability to influence them (confirmed by an official at Assad regime in an TV interview). The danger of ISIS went globally and US started the @coalition to defeat them.
The @BarackObama administration's condition on local resistance to just fight ISIS not Assad led to mistrust and #Turkey was assuring for more stress to reduce the US influence in #Syria. Conflict between regional countries was growing specially the Qatari-Saudi conflict.
The US as they lost the trust in/with local resistance they found the local partner in the YPG and the SDF was born. At this time Turkey used Nusra/HTS to kick out Saudi/US/UAE allies from #Syria and controlled the local forces.
Due the US-SDF partnership & other Political reasons Turkey found new partnership opportunities with Russia and Syria was the Jocker to play by both sides. ASTANA talks born and UN efforts tied. Step by step the Assad controlled new areas under heavy Russian air support.
Among these ASTANA talks millions of civilians forced to leave home in rural Damascus, Homs, Hama and in the eastern #Aleppo the last IDPs wave begin 2020 over one million displaced in #Idlib in 10 days.
This summary just to remember journalists, UN officials, researchers and other people interested in #Syria to respect Syrians suffer and dreams by not saying it is 10 years war or civi war. It was 2 years hard uprising/revolution before #Assad successfully turned it to war.
