They most certainly will, though, mobilise vast national resources to trash vast swathes of beautiful English and Scottish countryside, the natural and archaeological heritage of the English and Scottish peoples, for their Londocentric HS2 Gravy Train vanity project.

They are fixated on providing high-speed travelm mostly from and to London, for the few, at prohibitively expensive prices, way out of the reach of most people.

HS2 Ltd’s principal deceptive propaganda element is that HS2 is all about “opening up” Scotland, the Midlands and the North. They plan to do that by ignoring the actual public transport needs of the people of those places

and instead imposing on them a means for syphoning skilled workers out of Scotland, the North and the Midlands to work in and contribute to the economies of London and the South East. A daily brain drain train, in effect.

Some corporations & corrupt politicians deploy slick, gaslighting, greenwashing PR campaigns, cost no object, to promote a "Heads we win; tails you lose" environmentally irresponsible, and now postCOVID, postBrexit, totally outmoded and unneeded megaconstruction project.

They push on with their lucrative scam in the full knowledge that the institution of long distance commuting is rapidly and inexorably fading, like the antimacassars and top hats of old.

The reality is that more and more people are choosing to work from home and live far less wasteful and carbon emitting lifestyles.

Responsible businesses and individuals are all doing all they can to reduce their Carbon Footprints and save themselves vast amounts of time and money. Companies that have lost out heavily due to Brexit have a great need to reduce their overheads.

Long distance commuting and costly work spaces are obvious, prime areas for reduction. The game has radically changed but HS2 Ltd hangs on to its now totally obsolete game plan that was never much of a thing to start with.

HS2 is an extraordinarily blatant and offensive decades-long #SlapForCarers. It entirely ignores the actual needs of the people for the greed, short sightedness and egregious irresponsibility of corrupt politicians like Sunak, Shapps Johnson, Starmer.

It seems as if for them the #ClimateAndEcologialEmergency is merely a fantasy that can simply be ignored for Big Money Business as usual interests.

A reminder of the quality of decisionmaking this govt excels in. When 136,000 in Britain will have died of Covid-19 that will mark the moment 1/500th of the population has been lost on the watch of the bloviating clown and his arrogant, supercilious chums
