Today marks the sixth anniversary of the #Saudi coalition’s intervention in #Yemen. After 6 years of war:
1-The coalition hasn't succeeded in achieving any of its goals, most notably the restoration of Hadi government after the Houthis control of Sanaa in 2014. (THREAD)
2-The first crack in the coalition was when #Saudi exempted #Qatar from continuing with the alliance.
3-During this period, many countries withdrew from it, and the coalition failed to maintain the cohesion& strength of its legitimate justification.
4-The most prominent was the full Emirati withdrawal, according to what Abu Dhabi announced on February 8, which was clearly in order to preserve economic interests after the Houthi drones arrived at Abu Dhabi airport in 2018&were followed by Iranian understandings with the UAE.
5-That came after tension in the Arab Gulf due to the impact of the sea tanker crises between US and Iran,& also included an indirect calm between the UAE&the Houthis, mediated by Iran.
6-millions of people are starving to death in the poorest countries of the Arabian Peninsula.
7-The UN Development Program (UNDP) has warned that the war will turn #Yemen into an "unviable state," so that it will be "extremely difficult" to rebuild. Tens of thousands have died in the 6 years old war that the UN describes as the world's worst humanitarian crisis.
8-Biden administration said that it took a number of decisions, such as canceling the designation of the Houthi group as a terrorist group, stopping arms sales to the #Saudi-UAE Arab coalition, appointing an American envoy to #Yemen.
9-#US administration should stop all arms deals to Saudi and UAE now, and lead the actual peace. Biden said that he will stop the war in #Yemen, but it seems that the US will keep building its economy by killing civilians.
10-#US,#UK and other western countries arms have destroyed 90 % of Yemeni infrastructure.
11-I think that the solution is to support Yemeni internal dialogue and that the #US and all western countries should support this dialogue and stop refueling this war.
12-The most important step before the negotiations is to stop the aerial bombing, open Sanaa airport, and the port of Hodeidah, end Taiz siege&stop the escalation towards Marib by the Houthis.
because.
13-losure of Sanaa airport &Hodeidah port effects civilians, not the Houthis.
14-Yemen depends on aid to feed its 29 million people, but with aid funding greatly reduced in 2021, especially due to the consequences of the Coronavirus, many relief programs have stopped operating in #Yemen.
15-Without lifting the blockade and facilitating equal negotiation between the Yemeni parties, without recognizing the political and social rights of all components, and without withdrawing everything that could be called a foreign presence' .. the war will continue.
16-I think It is clear that the dilemma of the continuation of the current war has become a nightmare that haunts everyone, as its human tragedies and economic consequences have increased for everyone.
17-The days of war, whose flame has not ceased, have left deep wounds in Yemeni society. The war and its consequences have caused social, sectarian and regional wounds, and it will not recover fast.
18-We are tired of this bloody war, we need peace.
For the last 6 years, we’ve been living in a hell. If we will continue to live violence every day, how can we work for the development of our country?
19-These bad events will not go easily from my mind and I think it will last for the rest of my life. I don’t want my children or other Yemeni children to live and see this devastated situation.
20-Finally, We want all of the violence to stop and the international community must work effectively to end this crisis. It is time for Saudi to stop its military operations, it is time for the whole parties in #Yemen to sit down at the negotiation table &discuss peace process.

-I saw people with their limbs blown off, & worse.
-I can't forget the expressions of sadness on the faces of poor people,
-I have realized that there is no one and nowhere to run to if something bad happens like #Saudi bombardment.
