So what could @yieldyak_ $YAK token be worth? Some napkin maths:
- $20m TVL x 0.5%/day (avg APR) x 5% fee = $5k/day this money printer makes x365 days = $1.8m revs
- this is *current* run-rate TVL. $AVAX TVL is currently ~$375m so $20m is ~5% of total
- $AVAX defi ecosystem is nascent & has huge potential. Let's assume it grows to $1b TVL (not inconceivable, more likely than not), & let's say @yieldyak_ continues to outpace overall AVAX defi as I expect it to, ie auto-compounding trend is strong & their roadmap to be the

@iearnfinance of $AVAX becomes realised on the way to world domination. I think 10% share of overall TVL is pretty conservative given this. So revised maths:
- $1b total AVAX TVL x 10% share = $100m TVL x 0.5%/day (avg APR) x 5% fee = $25k/day x365 days = $9.1m revs!

- Slap a 25x multiple and you get to >$200m market cap without much effort
- and divide that by 10,000 $YAK tokens = $20k/YAK
Don't know about you, but seems sensible to start moving some TVL over to @yieldyak_ & start clicking some buttons
Critiques welcome, let's discuss!

A huge CONGRATS to the @yieldyak_ & @gondola_finance teams for cracking top 5 TVL on @avalancheavax:
- $YAK team has been a #defi leader & “foundational” $AVAX project from the start now ~$35m
- $GDL is the NKOB after just launching last week & already at ~$25m TVL 1/6
$GDL $25m TVL is all the more impressive given some early hiccups at launch. The team is delivering an airdrop to compensate those users negatively impacted by the staking bug (in conjunction with swapping incentives & early staker airdrops)

1) Macro Commentary
I’ve been obsessed with the state of AVAX defi ecosystem since I widened my focus & started comparing vs other chains, & seeing that we’re losing in the race to build TVL
1) Aggressively support NATIVE projects with grants & internal @avalabsofficial resources 2) Have a united front with your #defi "foundation" partners @AvalaunchApp launchpad to bring in new projects @yieldyak_ defi expertise & integration @pangolindex DEX/liquidity
2/4
3) Focus on building TVL as your primary KPI, invest your war chest NOW. Be competitive & try to win vs other inferior chains. Yes, $AVAX is the best tech & CX (once on-ramped), but users will go elsewhere if that's where the growth, APY, growth & quality projects are

Hi All - since the last update a couple of days, I feel like I've aged 5 yrs...

1) Price Action: yesterday, we had some uplift with @Tesla's news that they would accept #bitcoin, but that was short-lived with crypto taking a dive & BTC struggling to stay above $50k & #Ethereum hovering ~$1.6k. $AVAX is -17% to $25.50. UGH!!!

2) Yield Farming. In times of macro weakness, the investor tendency is towards risk aversion, and yield farming is viewed as risk-on. So I've been monitoring the farms closely, and it's good to see that, in spite of price weakness, there has been stability at the lows
I've been trying to understand for some time the impact of $GBTC (Grayscale Bitcoin Trust) on the price of $BTC. Here's a good article to start, and here's a thread on my current thoughts... 1/9
There's no doubt that $GBTC has been a driving force in allowing investors to gain exposure to $BTC. For many investors, it provides the easiest way to get crypto exposure. As a result, $GBTC often trades at a large premium (20%-30%) over spot $BTC 2/9
Recently in January, $BTC prices have declined from a high of >$40k to <$30k (now back near $35k). $GBTC's premium to NAV has also dropped to <5% 3/9
