I fell in love with #cricket watching the 1985 Ravi Shastri Audi series!
@sourabhsanyal was appearing for his 10th boards during the VVS series! And got yelled at by his dad because when he asked how was the paper he replied “What’s the score?”
The 1996 World Cup was when he truly started following cricket! That just shows he is a true cricket fan because if there is one tournament I would never expect a Pakistan cricket fan to love it would be the 1996 World Cup!
@DayaSagar95 started following cricket during the 2003 World Cup!
Everyone feels the concept of community cricket viewing of the 90’s was a great experience which has been eroded over the years and now with smart phone streaming has totally gone!
@DayaSagar95 remembers the 2003 World Cup match was the first one he watched!
@GSV1980 watched his first match standing on a footpath outside an Onida showroom!
@taurausvarun lists 1998 Sachin v Australia , the 2007 WC etc as his earliest matches!
@di_an remember watching Gavaskar play live on Doordarshan black and white! He feels no one has ever had the kind of balance he did! And also the swagger as Viv Richards walked in to bat Umar the Kotla!
@GSV1980 on air now! Sharing stories that SMG shared with him.
Kapil Dev says that uncovered pitches never existed! There would’ve been moisture but never uncovered pitches!
Everyone prayed for Chetan Chauhan to get out so the next players could borrow his thigh guard!
@GSV1980 feels we love cricket but as fans of the game we are far better compared to England and Australia because there are throngs at the IPL to watch the very same players who play domestic cricket where there are no spectators!
@CricCrazyJohns stated following in 2004 when Indisndefended a small total against Australia! Then the debut of MSD. Watching a live match on Gandhi Jayanti at a stadium.
He missed the 2003 World Cup but saw the 2007 and the 2011 WC! The QF against Australia was very special!
@CricCrazyJohns brought up a great point: of watching the match at a hostel!
I remember watching the 2011 WC final at a bar at 4.30 AM in Philadelphia! There were 250 people there and it was fantastic!
@GSV1980 was covering the final in Mumbai and he went to the hotel and the players were very emotional. He got his media card signed by the players!
His hotel was 3.5 kms from the Wankhade and it took him 3.5 hours to reach the hotel because the streets were packed!
@GSV1980 sharing the emotional reactions of the players because they had found out about Yuvraj Singh’s Cancer story!
He tried to get a reaction from the surgeon who is operating on him but the surgeon declined!
@vmanjunath remembers watching Sachin bowling the last over against West Indies down under and then against South Africa in the Hero Cup!
He shares how everyone looked up to Sachin who seemed t have a new opening partner every few months!
Also speaks about the Tehelka Effect!
@GSV1980 wonders how is it that we never won with the Fab Five as we did after their time!
I personally feel that’s because we did not have a bowling attack to take 20 wickets overseas!
@dietStartsTom was 8/9 during the 1998 Australia tour of India. He cold called the Taj hotel and asked Harbhajan and he got to speak to him!
His sister suggested calling Dravid who was ot at the hotel. Then she tried Sachin and the lady connected to what was supposedly his room
“sachin” spoke to her and when she asked r meet him he invited them over.
The family goes to the hotel and “Sachin” invited them to his room!
And it was actually Sachin who met them and sent time with them too!

1.Scan every single certificate (mark sheet degree cert, birth, aadhar, Pan etc) and save in a secure place. Easiest is to open an email address only for documents. Make 4 sets of copies, 2 with your parents 2 with you.
2.Spend AS MUCH time with your parents as possible. It still will feel inadequate once you are there. 3.Buy multiple sweaters, jackets, scarves, wollen caps, gloves, wollen socks etc.
