In the meeting, the Department of Pharmaceuticals directed pharmaceutical companies to increase the production of the antiviral drug Remdesivir, which is being widely used to treat COVID-19 patients across India. #Remedisivir
Reportedly, the government is also looking to discuss with patent-holding companies such as Gilead if they can allow voluntary licensing of Remdesivir to Indian manufacturers for the time being. #India #COVID19 Image
Meanwhile, pharmaceutical companies across India are now boosting their production of the antifungal drug Amphotericin B in view of the rising Black fungus cases. However, it would take at least 15-30 days for the fresh produce to enter the market. #BlackFungus #CoronavirusIndia Image
To note, India registered 2.67 lakh fresh infections and 4,529 fatalities - its highest daily death toll in the pandemic in the last 24 hours. However, only 3% of India's population remains fully vaccinated. #COVID19 #CoronaPandemic Image

A study published by Malaysian researchers said an alphacoronavirus was isolated from a human pneumonia patient. Out of the 301 samples of hospitalized pneumonia patients in Malaysia, between 2017 and 2018, eight samples (2.7%) were found to be carrying the novel coronavirus. Image
Meanwhile, a virologist at the Ohio State University confirmed that the virus was a canine coronavirus, earlier thought to be non-transmissible to humans. However, since the majority of the genome was canine coronavirus, it is likely the virus jumped directly from dogs to humans. Image

Some viewers noticed that in the recently-released trailer, Raji’s uniform resembles that of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE), a Tamil militant organization. The trailer also mentions an "unexpected coalition" between the "ISI and rebels" worsening things for the show. Image
Alleging that Tamils were being shown as "thugs," many Twitter users announced that they will be unsubscribing Amazon Prime. Moreover, assuming that the rebels depicted are from LTTE as Akkineni plays a Sri Lankan Tamilian, many Twitter users came to defend the organization. Image
